FDI and Wellbeing: A Key Node Analysis for Psychological Health in Response to COVID-19 Using Artificial Intelligence

Developing countries are primary destinations for FDI from emerging economies following the World Investment Report 2022, including destinations in OECD countries. Based on three theoretical lenses and case analyses, we argue that Chinese outward FDI has impacts on wellbeing in destination countries, and that this is an important issue for psychological health in response to COVID-19. Based on the super-efficiency DEA approach, our study investigated the impact of Chinese outward FDI on wellbeing in OECD countries. We also applied a Tabu search to identify country groups based on the relationship between Chinese outward FDI and wellbeing and we developed a key node analysis of the country groups using an immune algorithm. This research has implications for public administrators in global governance and could help shape FDI policies to improve psychological health of the destination countries in response to COVID-19.

Advance of mechanism and effect of chemotherapy on arrhythmia

Cardiac arrhythmias have been reported as an adverse effect of many chemotherapeutic drugs, including novel targeted therapies.Arrhythmias can be either the direct proarrhythmic effect of drugs or the change of in cardiac structure and function caused by drugs, which create an arrhythmogenic substrate.In this review, we summarize available evidence of proarrhythmia induced by chemotherapy, discuss the possible mechanisms, and provide several suggestions in arrhythmia risk stratification, cardiac monitoring and treatment during chemotherapy and the follow-up period. Establishment of a nomogram with EMP3 for predicting clinical outcomes in patients with glioma: A bi‐center study

Abstract Aim To demonstrate the clinical value of epithelial membrane protein 3 (EMP3) with bioinformatic analysis and clinical data, and then to establish a practical nomogram predictive model with bicenter validation. Methods The data from CGGA and TCGA database were used to analyze the expression of EMP3 and its correlation with clinical prognosis. Then, we analyzed EMP3 expression in samples from 179 glioma patients from 2013 to 2017. Univariate and multivariate cox regression were used to predict the prognosis with multiple factors. Finally, a nomogram to predict poor outcomes was formulated. The accuracy and discrimination of nomograms were determined with ROC curve and calibration curve in training and validation cohorts. Results EMP3 was significantly higher in higher‐grade glioma and predicted poor prognosis. In multivariate analysis, high expression of EMP3 (HR = 2.842, 95% CI 1.984–4.071), WHO grade (HR = 1.991, 95% CI 1.235–3.212), and IDH1 mutant (HR = 0.503, 95% CI 0.344–0.737) were included. The nomogram was constructed based on the above features, which represented great predictive value in clinical outcomes. Conclusion This study demonstrated EMP3 as a novel predictor for clinical progression and clinical outcomes in glioma. Moreover, the nomogram with EMP3 expression represented a practical approach to provide individualized risk assessment for glioma patients.

Bibliometric Analysis of the Top-Cited Publications and Research Trends for Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy

This study aims to analyze the 100 most cited papers and research trends on stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT).We used Web of Science to identify the 100 most frequently cited papers on SBRT on September 29, 2021 and extracted the following data: publication year, source title, country/region, organization, total citations, and average number of citations per year. The research type and research domain were classified independently by the authors. Then we carried out a bibliometric analysis to determine the trends in research on SBRT.These 100 papers were cited a total of 26,540 times, and the median number of citations was 190 (range, 138-1688). "Stereotactic body radiation therapy for inoperable early stage lung cancer" by Timmerman et al. had the highest number of total citations (1688 times). International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics published the largest number of papers (37 papers), followed by Journal of Clinical Oncology (13 papers). The USA contributed the most papers (67 papers), followed by Canada (18 papers). Primary lung cancer (33 papers, 10,683 citations) and oligometastases (30 papers, 7,147 citations) were the most cited research areas.To the best of our knowledge, this is the first bibliometric analysis of the most frequently cited papers on SBRT. Our results provide insight into the historical development of SBRT and important advances in its application to cancer treatment. Early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer and oligometastases were the most cited research areas in the top 100 publications on SBRT, and SBRT combined with immunotherapy was a hot topic in the past few years. This study is helpful for researchers to identify the most influential papers and current research hotspots on SBRT.

This paper mainly investigates the instructional practices and beliefs about oral Chinese teaching and its assessment in Colombia.6 teachers and 57 students in beginning,intermediate,and advanced courses from some universities in Antioquia Province participated in the study.The research instruments included questionnaires,follow-up questionnaires,interviews,and classroom observation.The pedagogical implications included a need to change teachers' beliefs and to make Chinese teaching and learning truly communicative,and to train teachers how to conduct language assessment.

Spi1 regulates the microglial/macrophage inflammatory response via the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway after intracerebral hemorrhage

Preclinical and clinical studies have shown that microglia and macrophages participate in a multiphasic brain damage repair process following intracerebral hemorrhage. The E26 transformation-specific sequence-related transcription factor Spi1 regulates microglial/macrophage commitment and maturation. However, the effect of Spi1 on intracerebral hemorrhage remains unclear. In this study, we found that Spi1 may regulate recovery from the neuroinflammation and neurofunctional damage caused by intracerebral hemorrhage by modulating the microglial/macrophage transcriptome. We showed that high Spi1 expression in microglia/macrophages after intracerebral hemorrhage is associated with the activation of many pathways that promote phagocytosis, glycolysis, and autophagy, as well as debris clearance and sustained remyelination. Notably, microglia with higher levels of Spi1 expression were characterized by activation of pathways associated with a variety of hemorrhage-related cellular processes, such as complement activation, angiogenesis, and coagulation. In conclusion, our results suggest that Spi1 plays a vital role in the microglial/macrophage inflammatory response following intracerebral hemorrhage. This new insight into the regulation of Spi1 and its target genes may advance our understanding of neuroinflammation in intracerebral hemorrhage and provide therapeutic targets for patients with intracerebral hemorrhage.

Ozone attenuates chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy via upregulating the AMPK-SOCS3 axis

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a severe adverse reaction to chemotherapeutics, which seriously affects the outcome of chemotherapy and patients' quality of life. Although it is commonly seen, it lacks effective treatment. Our previous study found that ozone could alleviate neuropathic pain. Damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) or Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) or tissue factor (TF)-mediated neuroinflammation and microcirculation disturbance is the main reason for CIPN. Suppressors of cytokine signaling (SOCS) 3 is an endogenous negative feedback regulator of inflammation via TLR4 inhibition.Oxaliplatin (L-OHP) was used to establish mice's CIPN model. Nociceptive responses were assessed by observing the ICR mice's incidence of foot regression in mechanical indentation response experiments. Cell signaling assays were performed by Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. The mouse leukemia cells of monocyte-macrophage line RAW 264.7 were cultured to investigate the effects of ozone administration on macrophage.Ozone decreased the expression of TF in the blood and sciatic nerve. It upregulated the adenosine 5'-monophosphate (AMP)-activated protein kinase (AMPK)-SOCS3 axis to relieve CIPN and inhibit TF expression in vivo. SOCS3 expression was induced by ozone to inhibit the p38/TF signaling in RAW 246.7 cells. Ozone also prevented L-OHP-induced sciatic nerve demyelination. Microglia activation was inhibited, and c-Fos and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) expression was decreased in the spinal dorsal horn via ozone.In this study, we demonstrated that ozone could alleviate CIPN by upregulating the AMPK-SOCS3 axis to inhibit TF expression, which is a potential treatment for CIPN.
