The fast expansion of information and communication technology (ICT) use has provided easier access to online health information. However, studies focusing on rural Vietnam, where many health issues exist, are still sparse. This current study aimed to investigate the ICT use among rural Vietnamese and examine factors associated with online health information-seeking behaviors. In this cross-sectional study, 226 Vietnamese aged 25 to 70 were recruited from a rural town in Quang Tri Province in 2017. Predictors were selected based on Andersen's Behavioral Model. Binary logistic regression was conducted to identify factors associated with online health information-seeking behavior. Results showed that less than half of participants used the Internet, had a smartphone, had a computer or tablet, and used mobile apps. Binary logistic regression results showed that females (OR = .22, CI = .05-.97) and being married (OR = .09, CI = .01-.59) were associated with lower likelihoods to seek health information online. People with annual checkups (OR = 2.89, CI = 1.13–7.41) and more ICT use (OR = 2.58, CI = 1.87–3.57) were more likely to seek health information online. These findings suggested that ICT use and annual checkups were the most important factors in predicting online health information-seeking behavior among rural Vietnamese. Future health and government initiatives should focus on advancing access to healthcare and digital applications among this population.
Osteolytic lesions with activated osteoclast (OC) and suppressed osteoblast (OB) activity are characteristics of myeloma bone lesion. Recently, it has been shown that bortezomib treatment enhances OB function. To evaluate the effect of bortezomib on myeloma bone lesions, we performed bone scans, where increased uptake of the radiopharmaceutical by OBs is associated with re-building activity. Bortezomib treatment markedly enhanced bone metabolic activity and increased alkaline phosphatase levels, and decreased monoclonal protein levels. These findings suggest that bortezomib has potent anti-myeloma activity and bone-protecting effects, with enhanced OB function.
This study aims to measure associated factors of Mental Health Literacy (MHL) among Minnesotans by using the Mental Health Literacy Scale and Andersen's Health Behavior Model. This study utilized cross-sectional survey data with 732 participants.Participants in higher education groups showed higher MHL levels than those who have less education. Non-Latino Whites had higher MHL levels than any other racial group. Participants who engaged in social groups had higher MHL levels. Interestingly, the relationship between health literacy and MHL was the most substantial factor.Interventions aiming to improve health literacy seems beneficial to increase MHL. In addition, a variety of programs should be implemented, such as social programs that target those with less social group interaction.
We have measured the polarization parameter for proton-proton elastic scattering at ${p}_{0} = 6$ GeV/c for $|t|<0.5$ ${(\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/\mathit{c})}^{2}$ using the polarized proton beam at the Argonne Zero Gradient Synchrotron. These data, together with all previous measurements in this $t$ region, are well fitted by the empirical relation $P = (0.481\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.010){(\ensuremath{-}t)}^{\frac{1}{2}}\mathrm{exp}(2.291\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.085)t$.
