Nowadays, the mineral resources formed by geological processes have been effectively utilized with the boom exploration of novel technologies. Traditional analytical methods, such as X-ray Fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, and Scanning electron microscopy, remain the commonly used approaches for resource detection. However, recent accelerations in terahertz component progress have promoted researchers to discover more potential technologies in mineral resource exploration. In this article, the various porosities and calcination products of Chlorite mica carbonate schist, a mineral resource and potent medicine, are detected using the terahertz time–domain spectroscopy. The terahertz constant measurement of Chlorite mica carbonate schist tablets including the amplitude and phase values was carried out. After Fourier transforms, notable differences of absorption coefficients and refractive index are observed from these experimental samples, which have compelling indications to quantitatively analyze the pore conditions and pyrolytic properties of mineral resources. This active research has vital implications for the rock reservoir properties analysis and mineral energy utilization. It is also identified that terahertz time–domain spectroscopy can be considered as a promising method for the qualitative, reliable, and efficient detection of mineral resources.
Electronic theodolites are widely used for spatial coordinate measurement in assembly manufacturing industry, but the traditional operation of theodolites is time-consuming, which can not meet the application of online measurement. So in the automatic guided laser theodolite system including two electronic motored theodolites, a method for improving resolution of the electronic theodolite based on subdivided locating of laser spot image was expounded to eliminate the errors. On the basis of a brief introduction of the automatic guided laser theodolite system, factors related to the measuring errors were analyzed, with the conclusion that angle resolution of theodolite had an effect impact on the phenomenon of no coincidence between the laser spot and the target point. Then the image including the message of the laser spot adopted by the external camera was processed to subdivide in pixel level. Sequently comparison of the measuring results was made between the original measuring data and the data corrected by the subdivided locating method in the same theodolite measuring model to evaluate the feasibility of the operation and to find the most suitable interpolation method. The experimental data of the system verified the high precision and efficiency of the method.
Logo recognition is an important issue in document image, advertisement, and intelligent transportation. Although there are many approaches to study logos in these fields, logo recognition is an essential subprocess. Among the methods of logo recognition, the descriptor is very vital. The results of moments as powerful descriptors were not discussed before in terms of logo recognition. So it is unclear which moments are more appropriate to recognize which kind of logos. In this paper we find out the relations between logos with different transforms and moments, which moments are fit for logos with different transforms. The open datasets are employed from the University of Maryland. The comparisons based on moments are carried out from the aspects of logos with noise, and rotation, scaling, rotation and scaling.
Group buying, which provides daily discounts for various services and products, is a new form of marketing that has attracted the attention of both practitioners and academic researchers. However, it is unclear what factors influence the effectiveness of a group buying promotion. This study presents an analysis of 862 restaurant group buying deals based on the secondary data collected from a restaurant guide website. The results indicate that group buying effectiveness – namely, the number of coupons sold, satisfaction improvement, and return intention of group buying customers – can be affected by the discount depth of a deal as well as the service quality and popularity of a restaurant. These findings provide useful insights regarding the elements that are necessary to make a group buying promotion work.
