Background: Novel coronavirus pneumonia COVID-19 has become a serious threat to human health. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a good clinical effect in the treatment of COVID-19, with a high effective rate and a low rate of turning to the serious stage. Objective: We generated the web-accessed anti-COVID-19 TCM database to provide the anti-COVID-19 TCM information to develop effective drugs for the treatment of COVID-19. Methods: Herein, we collected these prescriptions data by querying the CNKI and Wanfang Chinese databases, the clinical guidance for COVID-19 pneumonia diagnosis and treatment, and further set up the web-accessible anti-COVID-19 TCM database. Results: Altogether, 293 different prescriptions are applied in four different COVID-19 stages of treatment, and the prevention of COVID-19 is composed of 452 TCM components. Conclusion: The database provides comprehensive information for anti-COVID TCM and thus would help to investigate novel ways to develop new anti-COVID-19 agents.

To establish a phenylketonuria screening model by FTIR/ATR spectroscopy, and to compare the effects of different pretreatment methods, such as baseline correction, smoothing, derivation, Fourier deconvolution, on the model quality. A consensus partial least squares regression method (cPLS) was used to build the quantitative model of phenylalanine in dried blood spots. The effects of different pretreatment methods on the model performance were investigated, using the correlation coefficient (r), root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP), mean relative error (MRE) and predictive accuracy (Acc). The nine-point smoothing coupled with the first differential was found to perform the best. Compared with the model by the original spectra, its r, RMSEP, MRE and Acc were improved from 0. 822 7, 115. 8, 0. 395 and 94. 6 to 0. 889 9, 102. 2, 0. 286 and 100, respectively. With the advantages of fast speed, easy process, no reagents consumption and environmental protection, the present method is expected to become a simple and green technology for rapidly screening the neonatal phenylketonuria in a large population.
Abstract This study aimed to assess the isokinetic strength performance of the knee and shoulder in amateur boxer, and further to explore the contribution of knee and shoulder peak torque to different punches. Boxers (6 females and 8 males) were measured the dynamic concentric torque of knee flexion(F) and extension(E), shoulder external rotation (ER) and internal rotation (IR) at 60°/S, 180°/S. We tested the punching force of three techniques by Kistler Instruments. At 60°/S, F/E ratios of the dominant (D) knee of female boxers were lower than those of non-dominant (ND) side (p=0.03). At two angular velocities, all boxers demonstrated higher ER/IR ratios in ND ( p =0.011 for males, p =0.025 for females). Bilateral difference of knee flexor in females was greater ( p =0.038) than that in males. The maximum correlation was found at 180°/S between punching forces and the joints strength. ANOVA analyses revealed that athletes with greater punching force tend to have higher knee strength. Although correlations between shoulders strength and punching forces were strong, they did not discriminate between athletes who punched with higher punching force. In order to effectively transfer muscle strength to punching force, rapid completion of action should be highlighted in strength training, especially lower-limb strength.
Abstract Background: Psoriasis is a chronic, non-communicable, painful, disfiguring and disabling disease, which is not curable and strongly declines the patients’ quality of life (QoL). However, diagnose and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) based on syndrome differentiation has been used in practice for a long time and has also achieved some effect. Though, up to now, only few studies are available reporting on the use of semantic technologies and pertain to knowledge systems that use TCM-syndrome differentiation for information retrieval and automated reasoning. Nowadays, the diagnosis in TCM relies mainly on the personal expertise and clinical experience of the doctors. For various reasons, misdiagnoses or missed diagnoses cannot be completely excluded, leading to unexpected results. Methods: Firstly, we developed a domain ontology for syndrome differentiation of psoriasis vulgaris. For this purpose, we used the ontology editor Protégé and applied a top-down approach which adopts the framework of general formal ontology (GFO) and its middle-level core ontology GFO-TCM. Furthermore, we implement a prototype which is based on this ontology. Additionally, we also used a case-database for CBR (Case Based Reasoning) combined with fuzzy pattern recognition. Results: A prototype for diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, named ONTOPV-system, is proposed which is based on the principle of syndrome differentiation and treatment in TCM; this system realizes an expert-assisted decision support method which relies on a domain ontology, uses fuzzy logic reasoning, and case retrieval and is intended to support clinical diagnostic decisions for TCM practitioners. Conclusions: We designed and implemented a prototype for psoriasis diagnosis in terms of syndrome differentiation. The system can not only realize the basic functionalities of data collection, querying, browsing and navigation, but also support rule-based knowledge reasoning and customize approximate reasoning based on CBR through fuzzy logic, which can provide users with clinical decision support for TCM syndrome differentiation in diagnosis of psoriasis. In addition, it comprises a domain knowledge base of psoriasis, which is developed based on the GFO framework with good extensibility.
Objective To establish the measurement traceability for Hematology Analyzers in the laboratory by calibrator and fresh blood. Methods Standardized operation measurement system was set up by using calibrator to calibrate the open-mode of Sysmex XE-2100 hematology analyzer(LJ-24).Fresh blood assigned by standardized operation measurement system was used to calibrate the closed-mode of LJ-24 and the other three hematology analyzers. After calibration,20 fresh blood samples were determined two times and the results of WBC、RBC、HGB、HCT and PLT were analyzed by different sampler mode among four hematology analyzers. The results determined by standardized operation measurement system as targeted value, and the bias was calculated. Results The measurement traceability was set up through this method successfully. The comparative test showed that the bias of the results were within the accepted limit among four hematology analyzers after calibration. Conclusion It is feasible that Fresh blood assigned by standardized operation measurement system were used to calibrate the other measurement system. The results determined by different measurement system had a good accuracy and comparability and met the requirements of the measurement traceability for Hematology Analyzers.
This study investigates the effects of comprehensive nursing interventions on wound pain in patients undergoing catheter insertion for peritoneal dialysis. Sixty patients who underwent catheter insertion for peritoneal dialysis from January 2021 to January 2023 at our hospital were selected as subjects and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group using a random number table method. The control group received routine nursing care, while the experimental group was subjected to comprehensive nursing interventions. The study compared the impact of nursing measures on visual analogue scale (VAS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS) and nursing satisfaction between the two groups. The analysis revealed that on the third, fifth and seventh days post-intervention, the experimental group's wound VAS scores were significantly lower than those of the control group (p < 0.001). Furthermore, levels of anxiety and depression were markedly lower in the experimental group compared with the control group (p < 0.001). In addition, the nursing satisfaction rate was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (96.67% vs. 73.33%, p = 0.011). This study indicates that the application of comprehensive nursing interventions in patients undergoing catheter insertion for peritoneal dialysis is highly effective. It can alleviate wound pain and negative emotions to a certain extent, while also achieving high patient satisfaction, thus demonstrating significant clinical value.
