Kondo interaction in FeTe and its potential role in the magnetic order

Finding d-electron heavy fermion (HF) states has been an important topic as the diversity in d-electron materials can lead to many exotic Kondo effect-related phenomena or new states of matter such as correlation-driven topological Kondo insulator or cooperation between long-range magnetism and Kondo lattice behavior. Yet, obtaining direct spectroscopic evidence for a d-electron HF system has been elusive to date. Here, we report the observation of Kondo lattice behavior in an antiferromagnetic metal, FeTe, via angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and transport properties measurements. The Kondo lattice behavior is represented by the emergence of a sharp quasiparticle at low temperatures. The transport property measurements confirm the low-temperature Fermi liquid behavior and reveal successive coherent-incoherent crossover upon increasing temperature. We interpret the Kondo lattice behavior as a result of hybridization between localized Fe 3dxy and itinerant Te 5pz orbitals. Our interpretation is further evidenced by Fano-type tunneling spectra which accompany a hybridization gap. Our observations strongly suggest unusual cooperation between Kondo lattice behavior and long-range magnetic order.

Scaling NbTiN-based ac-powered Josephson digital to 400M devices/cm$^2$

We describe a fabrication stackup for digital logic with 16 superconducting NbTiN layers, self-shunted a-silicon barrier Josephson Junctions (JJs), and low loss, high-$\kappa$ tunable HZO capacitors. The stack enables 400 MJJ/cm$^2$ device density, efficient routing, and AC power distribution on a resonant network. The materials scale beyond 28nm lithography and are compatible with standard high-temperature CMOS processes. We report initial results for two-metal layer NbTiN wires with 50nm critical dimension. A semi-ascendance wire-and-via process module using 193i lithography and 50nm critical dimension has shown cross-section uniformity of 1%=1s across the 300mm wafer, critical temperature of 12.5K, and critical current of 0.1mA at 4.2K. We also present a new design of the resonant AC power network enabled by NbTiN wires and HZO MIM capacitors. The design matches the device density and provides a 30 GHz clock with estimated efficiency of up to 90%. Finally, magnetic imaging of patterned NbTiN ground planes shows low intrinsic defectivity and consistent trapping of vorteces in 0.5 mm holes spaced on a 20 $\mu$m x 20 $\mu$m grid.

Emotional labor among team members: do employees follow emotional display norms for teams, not for customers?

Emotional labor is typically conceptualized as a process in which individuals regulate their emotions in response to display rules. Most research on emotional labor has focused on the influence of display rules at individual-level perceptions but is rarely examined at the team level. We examine the influence of the shared display rules in teams as emotional display norms. This study considers emotional dissonance as the difference between the positive emotional display norm at the team level and positive emotion at the individual level. To examine the purpose of this study, data were collected from leader-follower pairs within teams and based on a three-wave design. Thus, this study conducted a multi-level polynomial regression analysis and used the response surface methodology to interpret the incongruence effect. The results show that the incongruence effect of emotional dissonance is positively related to surface acting. In addition, the moderating effect of regulatory focus significantly strengthens the positive relationship between emotional dissonance and emotion regulation strategies. The results also show that surface acting strategy is negatively related to selfless Organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). These findings highlight that emotional display norms play an important role as the standard for emotional experience in teams, and especially with the moderating effect of self-regulatory focus, emotion regulation strategies affect the selfless OCB rating of observers.

Observation of Spin-Dependent Dual Ferromagnetism in Perovskite Ruthenates

We performed in situ angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and spin-resolved ARPES (SARPES) experiments to investigate the relationship between electronic band structures and ferromagnetism in SrRuO_{3} (SRO) thin films. Our high quality ARPES and SARPES results show clear spin-lifted band structures. The spin polarization is strongly dependent on momentum around the Fermi level, whereas it becomes less dependent at high-binding energies. This experimental observation matches our dynamical mean-field theory results very well. As temperature increases from low to the Curie temperature, spin-splitting gap decreases and band dispersions become incoherent. Based on the ARPES study and theoretical calculation results, we found that SRO possesses spin-dependent electron correlations in which majority and minority spins are localized and itinerant, respectively. Our finding explains how ferromagnetism and electronic structure are connected, which has been under debate for decades in SRO.

Evidence for a universal minimum superfluid response in field-tuned disordered superconducting films measured using low frequency ac conductivity

Our measurements of the low frequency ac conductivity in strongly disordered two-dimensional films near the magnetic field-tuned superconductor-to-insulator transition show a sudden drop in the phase stiffness of superconducting order with either increased temperature or magnetic field. Surprisingly, for two different material systems, the abrupt drop in the superfluid density in a magnetic field has the same universal value as that expected for a Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition in zero magnetic field. The characteristic temperature at which phase stiffness is suddenly lost can be tuned to zero at a critical magnetic field, following a power-law behavior with a critical exponent consistent with that obtained in previous dc transport studies on the dissipative side of the transition.

Electronic band structure of (111) SrRuO3 thin films: An angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy study

We studied the electronic band structure of pulsed laser deposition (PLD) grown (111)-oriented ${\mathrm{SrRuO}}_{3}$ thin films using in situ angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy technique. We observed light bands with a renormalized quasiparticle effective mass of about $0.8{m}_{e}$. The electron-phonon coupling underlying this mass renormalization yields a characteristic ``kink'' in the band dispersion. The self-energy analysis using the Einstein model suggests five optical phonon modes covering an energy range of 44--90 meV contribute to the coupling. In addition, we show that the quasiparticle spectral intensity at the Fermi level is considerably suppressed, and two prominent peaks appear in the valance band spectrum at binding energies of 0.8 and 1.4 eV, respectively. We discuss the possible implications of these observations. Overall, our work demonstrates that high-quality thin films of oxides with large spin-orbit coupling can be grown along the polar (111) orientation by the PLD technique, enabling in situ electronic band structure study. This could allow for characterizing the thickness-dependent evolution of band structure of (111) heterostructures---a prerequisite for exploring possible topological quantum states in the bilayer limit.

Evaluation of the Thermal Environment of Large Space Installed AHU Using Solar Heating System

Air conditioning is generally divided into 2 fields. The one, comfort air conditioning, supplies to pleasant indoor environment to people. Another, industrial air conditioning is used to improve for productivity. Existing industrial HVAC is focused on the quality of manufactures and improved productivity, but currently it is care for the work environments in high ceiling enclose industries for workers. Most of industrial building HVAC is different from general system on the scale. The reason is why industrial building has high ceiling, because there is installed many biggest machine that has many characteristics of mechanical and thermal. General industrial building has high ceiling about more 4 m. So, the people who work near the bottom of a enclose high ceiling industries is exposed to thermal displeasure. If we are reacted by the existing HVAC system, it would be bring a huge amount of energy using. As for this plan, the air is supplied to room by using the AHU (air handling unit) applied solar heating system. First, we should get temperature data which are water and air temperature at AHU and indoor air temperature near the AHU during winter and period of season change. It will be a data base for the following step, the CFD calculated simulation. After then, evaluation of thermal environment on large enclosure using each case study.
