Mechanical Properties of Powder Metallurgy Nickel‐Based Superalloy Composite Reinforced by Low Content Graphene Nanosheets

This study focuses on the effects of adding low content of graphene nanosheets (GNSs) (≤0.3 wt%) on microstructure and tensile property of GNSs‐reinforced nickel‐based superalloy (FGH96). The GNSs‐reinforced FGH96 composite is fabricated by wet‐chemical mixing and hot isostatic pressing. Microstructures and mechanical properties of the composites are studied by scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, and static tensile tests. Results indicate that, when the addition amount of GNSs is less than 0.1 wt%, the tensile properties of the GNSs‐reinforced FGH96 composites improve without losing their plasticity. The largest reduction of area ( R / A ) ratio of the composite is observed when 0.005 wt% GNSs is added, which is 81.4% higher than the unreinforced alloy. As the cross‐sectional area of tensile sample reduces during necking, the GNSs/unit area increases, leading to the delayed fracture with an increase in R / A ratio and true fracture strength. Theoretical analysis suggests that the strengthening mechanism of GNSs–FGH96 belongs to the modified shear lag model. The interfacial shear stress caused by the presence of GNSs is the main reason for the increase in yield strength.

Anisotropic Mechanical Properties of Graphene Nanosheet–Reinforced Powder Metallurgy Nickel‐Based Superalloy

Herein, a graphene nanosheet (GNS)/nickel‐based superalloy matrix composite with certain orientated GNS is fabricated via the powder metallurgy method. The solution mixing method is applied to obtain a superalloy powder with embedded GNS. Well‐arranged GNS in the composite can be obtained by subsequent hot isostatic pressing, isothermal extrusion, and isothermal forging, which lead to anisotropic mechanical properties with ductility in radial and tangential direction better than in axial directions. Consequently, a moderate strength improvement (111–116 MPa at 0.1 wt% GNS) is achieved in the composite without losing its ductility in radial and tangential direction, while the elongation reduces from 21.0% to 15.7% in the axial direction. When the loads are perpendicular and parallel to the GNS alignment direction, respectively, two different interface failure modes of “GNS interlayer delamination” and “GNS pulled out” are caused, which result in the anisotropic mechanical behavior. This finding may provide a new perception in informing the strengthening behaviors of GNS‐reinforced FGH96 composite.

STUDY OF NOVEL ELECTRONIC PACKAGING MATERIAL 70%Si-Al PREPARED BY THE SPRAY DEPOSITION

70%Si-Al alloy as a novel electronics package material was prepared by spray deposition. HIP technique was adopted in order to density the billet. The prepared 70%Si-Al alloy has a microstructure with fine silicon particles (10-20 μm in diameter) well dispersed in the matrix. The alloy shows excellent comprehensive properties, especially a lower thermal expansion coefficient and a lower density compared with the traditional electronics packaging materials. After HIP, The comprehensive properties of the 70%Si-Al alloy can be further enhanced. The alloy can be machined with the traditional cutting tools and applied as the packaging materials for the power IC, microwave electronic parts and integrate circuit blocks.

通过拉伸实验，并利用OM，SEM，TEM观察以及EBSD测试手段，研究了不同热加工工艺对Al-Mg-Si-Cu系合金板材力学性能和组织，包括织构的影响规律．结果表明，热加工工艺的变化对T4P预时效态合金的强度和应变硬化指数n基本无影响，但是对平均塑性应变比r^-,平面各向异性度△r以及不同方向延伸率影响显著：热轧之后首先进行一定量的冷轧变形然后再进行退火处理获得的合金板材（工艺II）较热轧后直接进行退火处理（工艺I）获得的合金板材在固溶之后的成形性能要好，r^-可达0．6187，同时各向异性明显减小；虽然工艺I处理的合金板材固溶过程中PSN效应显著，但是工艺II固溶处理前的冷轧变形量和不同尺寸粒子分布情况设计合理，再结晶晶粒基本呈等轴状，且仅含有强度较低的CubeND，Cube和H织构．并根据热加工工艺对合金板材显微组织的影响规律，提出该系合金随热加工工艺进行的组织演化模型示意图．
