Study of the Optoelectronic Properties of Ultraviolet Photodetectors Based on Zn‐Doped CuGaO₂ Nanoplate/ZnO Nanowire Heterojunctions

This study reports ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors based on CuGaO 2 (CGO) nanoplates (NPs) and Zn‐doped CGO (CZGO) NP/ZnO nanowire (NW) heterojunctions. The vertical arrays of ZnO NWs are uniformly grown on the surface of hexagonal CZGO NPs and form a high‐density p–n junction. The heterojunctions have better optoelectronic performance parameters than pure CGO NPs. Especially, the responsivity value of CZGO NP/ZnO NW heterojunctions reaches 0.12 A W −1 , and the photo‐to‐current ratio is estimated to be 4.5. This work offers a new idea for the rational design of optoelectronic devices from the synergetic effect of p‐type CZGO NPs and n‐type nanostructures.

At present, grating coupled surface emitting distributed feedback semiconductor lasers has been the focus of the laser field due to a number of excellent performance, such as high brightness, high power, low divergence, easy packaging etc, compared with the conventional edge-emitting semiconductor lasers. In this paper, the progress of research at home and abroad were summed and reviewed. And then, the further research and development trend has been discussed based on all of these progress.

Study on heat sink and solder of C-Mount packaged semiconductor laser

The selection of semiconductor laser package materials including heat sink and solder has an important impact to the cooling and life of the laser, and thus performing related studies is very important. A C-Mount package semiconductor laser model was established in this paper, and thermal characteristic of different kinds of heat sink materials was simulated by the finite element software ANSYS. The temperature distribution of semiconductor laser was subsequently simulated. Then Cu was selected as heat sink, and In or AuSn was used as a solder, and the thermal stress distribution and thermal deformation of different solder materials were analyzed. The distribution of thermal stress of the semiconductor laser has also been investigated.

Optical design and optimization of panoramic objective lens system

Panoramic camera's characteristics are large field of view, large field of depth, small volume, light weight and good seismic performance. It is widely used in aerial reconnaissance, topographic mapping and other fields. The ZEMAX software is used to research the panoramic camera lens. The lens system of the ordinary optical materials are discussed and analyzed. To explore the system structure with better image quality, the modulation transfer function of the lens system is adjusted, the radius of the surface, the thickness of lens and the air gap are optimized. The pros and cons of image quality are analyzed by the aberration curve.

All-fiber erbium-doped dissipative soliton laser with multimode interference based on saturable-reserve saturable hybrid optical switch

Reverse saturable absorption is essential for the realization of dissipative solitons. In this paper, we introduce reverse saturable absorption by using nonlinear multimode interference (NL-MMI), for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, and obtain a stable dissipative soliton operation. By adjusting the coupling efficiency from multimode fiber to single mode fiber, the absorption properties of NL-MMI can be switched between saturation and reverse saturation. The dissipative soliton can be obtained with pulse width of 975 fs in the experiment, the 3-dB bandwidth at 1555 nm is 16 nm, and the maximum output power is 11.48 mW. The nonlinear absorption optical modulation and high damage threshold characteristics of the NL-MMI based ultrafast optical switch provide a new idea for realizing dissipative solitons.
