Study on ZUPT Technology Applied in SINS

Zero Velocity Update (ZUPT) is an essential method of error control in Stapdown Inertial Navigation System (SINS), which is extensively used because of its cheapness and efficiency. ZUPT uses the output of velocity error of SINS when the carrier is parking, to update the errors of other items in SINS. This method can improve the position and direction precisions of SINS. Kalman filter is chosen as the method of ZUPT to correct the velocity and position errors in SINS in this article. The method of ZUPT based on Kalman filter is applied to the vehicle experiment. The results of the vehicle experiment indicate that the ZUPT based on Kalman filter is efficient and powerful in error control, and the Kalman filter designed based on SINS is proper.

A Design of MIMU/GPS Integrated Navigation System

A new scheme of small integrated navigation system based on micro inertial measurement unit (MIMU), global position system (GPS) is presented. The characteristic of these sensors and the structure of system are introduced respectively. The TI high performance floating point DSP TMS320C6713B is used as core processor, which is designed to realize both the data collecting and the navigation calculating. According to the error models of inertial navigation system, an integrated navigation algorithm used Kalman filter is proposed to fuse the information from all of the sensors. The simulation test results show the feasibility of the system design.

MEMS Gyro Random Drift Model Parameter Identification Based on Two-Stage Recursive Least Squares Method

Autoregressive moving average model (ARMA) was usually used for gyro random drift modeling. Because gyro random drift was a non-stationary, weak non-linear and time-variant random signal, model parameters were random and time-variant, too. For improving precision of gyro and reducing effects of random drift, this paper adopted two-stage recursive least squares method for ARMA parameter estimation. This method overcame the shortcomings of the conventional recursive extended least squares (RELS) algorithm. At the same time, the forgetting factor was introduced to adapt the model parameters change. The simulation experimental results showed that this method is effective.

EXTRACTION AND RETENTION OF PLUTONIUM WITH γ-IRRADIATED 30% TRIALKYLPHOSPHINE OXIDE–KEROSENE SOLUTION

Extraction and retention of plutonium by irradiated 30% trialkylphosphine oxide (TRPO) in kerosene were investigated. Factors that influence the retention of plutonium are discussed. The experimental results show that when 30% TRPO–kerosene–HNO3 is irradiated above a dose of 2 × 106 Gy, it produces a few Pu-complexing radiolytic degradation products. Radiation dose was the primary factor affecting retention of plutonium in the organic phase. At a radiation dose of 5 × 106 Gy, about 40% of the plutonium extracted by the solvent was left in the organic phase even after five back-extraction contacts with 0.6 mol/L oxalic acid. The reasons for plutonium retention were investigated. The products causing the retention were the polymeric ones with high molecular weight, and these were recovered by vacuum distillation of the irradiated 30% TRPO–kerosene. The phosphonic and phosphinic acids produced by irradiation of TRPO had no effect on the retention of plutonium.

Unscented Kalman Filter for DR/GPS Integrated Navigation System

In this paper, unscented Kalman filter (UKF) is studied to estimate the state of Dead reckoning (DR) and GPS integrated navigation system. The positioning error of DR system mainly comes from two factors, the azimuth error and odometer scale factor error. Conventional model of DR/GPS integrated navigation chooses acceleration, position and velocity as observation states, and azimuth error is not estimated, which is one of the key error sources. A new error model of DR/GPS system is adopted that includes azimuth error as a state, which makes it possible to estimate both of the two major error sources. UKF directly approximates the probability density distribution of random variable and avoids the linearization of nonlinear function, which improves the filtering precision. UKF is used to implement an improved DR/GPS system. Road test has been conducted to prove the effectiveness of the scheme.

One Kind of Data Acquisition System Used in PC104 Embedded Navigation Computer

In order to meet requirements of real-time dynamic navigation system, one multi-channels synchronization data acquisition system was designed based on PC104 bus. It can achieve simultaneous sampling of multiple channels data in one conversion cycle of ADC. The logic control is performed by FPGA, FIFO integrated by FPGA is used as buffer, so we can use resources of FPGA in large. At the same time, this design simplified the hardware circuit and improved circuit configuration flexibility. Using interrupt mode to read data into the FIFO, so it enhanced the data acquisition speed and reduced the burden on the navigation computer. Tests proved this system is efficient and feasible.

Map Matching-Aided In-Motion SINS Initial Alignment

The paper introduces a novel in-motion SINS initial alignment algorithm using the inertial frame as computing reference. First, dead reckoning method is utilized with the help of the external odometer speed information aiming to eliminate the angular and linear moving disturbances. Second, in order to suppressing the divergence of the positioning error, a new integrated Map Matching algorithm is introduced which is able to reduce the effect of misalignment angle from coarse alignment for positioning error. Road test results show that this algorithm has greatly reduced the coarse alignment of directional accuracy and saved the requirements of speed and route for land vehicles. Not only is the mobility of land vehicle enhanced but also the accuracy of initial alignment of inertial navigation system is improved, which is meaningful in real application.

Research of Filtering Based on Wavelet De-Noising Method for Revolution-Modulation North-Finder

In order to improve the precision of revolution-modulation north-finder, a filtering method based on wavelet de-noising method is studied. The continuous revolution in constant rate is used to modulate the output signals of gyroscopes and accelerometers, and the signals are demodulated by using the integrated method. The filtering method based on wavelet de-noising method is used to filter the signals of gyroscopes. The disturbance is filtered by maximum modulus, whose Lipschitz exponent is bigger than zero. The mean value of non-maximum modulus adjacent to the selected maximum modulus is used to alternate the maximum value. The noise is filtered by soft-thresholding, whose Lipschitz exponent is smaller than zero. The experimental results show the filtering method based on wavelet de-noising method effectively restrains the effect of random drift of gyroscopes and disturbance of system, and improves the precision of the revolution-modulation north-finder.

Research of Random Drift for MEMS Gyroscope Based on Gray System and ARMA Model

Due to the precision of MEMS gyroscope is currently low level, even in low precision dynamic attitude measurement system, its error is also need to be estimated and compensated. Random drift is the one of the most important factor affects MEMS Gyro’s precision. At the same time, it is a non-stationary, weak non-linear and time-variant random signal. For improving precision of gyro and reducing effects of random drift, this paper used gray GM(1, 1) model to extract established tendency signal, and used power spectral density (PSD) to identify and extract the hidden periodic weak signal, then used ARMA method to model gyro’s random drift. As the example of LCG50 MEMS gyro, the simulation experimental results show that using this method can reduce the random drift and enhance precision of gyro.

Research and Design of MEMS SINS/GPS Integrated Navigation System Based on Adaptive Filter

A MIMU/GPS integrated navigation system principle prototype is designed, and the structure of the system is introduced by different module. To handle the influence of Kalman filter parameters on system filtering performance (Including the system noise variance matrix Q and measurement noise covariance matrix R), adaptive estimation Kalman filter is designed. The test results show that satisfactory performance can be obtained using adaptive estimation techniques for the low-cost MIMU/GPS integrated navigation.
