The research was conducted to utilize sedimentary rock(shale) widely spread in Daegu-Kyungpook Region as coarse aggregate. The concrete strength level according to shale aggregate replacement ratio variation were assessed in the study. Specified Concrete Strength was designed 24MPa, 60MPa and replacement ratio was designed to vary to 0%, 25%, 50%, 100% to investigate slump and air content of fresh concrete, its effect to compressive strengthby aging processes in concrete manufacture. Consequently shale aggregate for concrete coarse aggregate utilization was evaluated.
