Exploring sustainable energy supply and effective solid waste disposal methods is becoming a challenge around the world.Refuse derived fuel (RDF) has been proposed as a potential alternative to coal, natural gas, oil, and coke due to its advantages of higher calorific value than original wastes, uniform composition in both physical and chemical aspects, transportation and storage, simplicity, low emission rate, and less extra air demand during combustion.However, the applicability of RDF in a given region needs to be evaluated by the combination of market analysis and political conditions.Based on the background research of Ningbo, an important industrial city in China, this paper analyzes and evaluates the energy structure, market potential of RDF and its sources in Ningbo, showing that the area has a demand for more than 7 million tons of RDF per year and is suitable for promoting and applying RDF as the alternative to coal.
Background:The long-term survival rate of gastric cancer (GC) patients at advanced stages remains low worldwide.Circular RNAs (circRNAs) a newly studied type of non-coding RNA that play an important role in the pathogenesis and diagnosis of various diseases.In this research, we aimed to explore the functions of hsa_circRNA_101996 in GC cells and an animal model of GC.Methods: The expression of hsa_circRNA_101996, microRNA (miR)-143, and ten-eleven translocation (TET)-2 in GC tissues, the adjacent tissues, and cell lines were determined by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).Transwell assays were used to analyze the knockdown effects of hsa_circRNA_101996, miR-143, and overexpression of TET2 on cell proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities.Western blotting was used to analyze the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP)2/MMP9.Binding interactions between, hsa_circRNA_101996 and miR-143 and between, miR-143 and TET2 were detected by Dual-luciferase reporter assays.Levels of protein expression were analyzed by Western blotting.Tumor models were established by subcutaneous injection of tumor cells in Bl6/Rag2/GammaC double knockout mice.Results: The result showed that hsa_circRNA_101996 expression was significantly upregulated in GC tissues compared to that in the adjacent tissues, and its level in cancer tissue was correlated with tumor size, lymphatic metastasis, and distant metastasis.Compared with the low hsa_circRNA_101996 expression group, the three-year survival rate of patients in the high hsa_circRNA_101996 expression group was significantly lower.The knockdown of hsa_circRNA_101996 dramatically suppressed the cell migration, invasion, and proliferation of GC cells by sponging to absorb miR-143 and elevated the expression of TET2.In vivo studies showed that the knockdown of hsa_circRNA_101996 delayed tumor growth.Furthermore, we revealed that TET2 regulates MMP2/MMP9 expression through the DNA demethylation pathway. Conclusion:Our findings indicate that hsa_circRNA_101996 promotes GC development by upregulating MMP2/MMP9 through miR-143/TET2 pathway, which may provide a novel target for GC.
The quantity and quality of the population are crucial to the prosperity of a country and a nation. The birth rate is a key indicator that affects future fertility levels. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that the number of births in 2022 reached the lowest level in 60 years, ranking China among countries with a low fertility rate. So far, many scholars have studied the micro-influencing factors of the population birth rate in China. However, the mechanism of population birth rates is complex. There is a certain research gap in the current research on population birth rates by using multiple variable selection methods. Based on this, this paper attempts to use the variable selection method to make a comprehensive study of the macro factors affecting the birth rate in China and draws a conclusion. In the early days of the founding of New China, the natural environment and population factors were the main factors affecting fertility levels. Since the reform and opening up, social environment factors have become the main factors affecting the fertility level of the population. To predict the future birth rate of China, the influence of fertility policy will be further reduced, and economic and social factors will become the main factors affecting population fertility.

As the environmental issues of organic dyes pollutants are becoming more and more severe, the need to develop emerging technologies to effectively eliminate pollutants is becoming increasingly urgent. In this work, the perovskite-type [Formula: see text]/[Formula: see text] composites were successfully synthesized by a simple ultrasonic water bath. The obtained composite was characterized by various techniques such as XRD, FTIR, SEM and UV-Vis. The photocatalytic performance of the composite was investigated by degrading rhodamine B under 25 W and 254 nm UV irradiation. Moreover, we investigated the optimum preparation conditions of [Formula: see text]/[Formula: see text] photocatalyst with a [Formula: see text] to [Formula: see text] mass ratio of 1:1 and a temperature of [Formula: see text]C for 2 h. In addition, the operating parameters of the photocatalytic reaction were systematically studied such as the initial concentration of solution, catalyst dosage and solution initial pH. The results showed that the photocatalytic decolorization rate of rhodamine B could reach 97.5% by adding 1 g/L [Formula: see text]/[Formula: see text] photocatalyst to 100 mL of 20 mg/L rhodamine B solution at pH 2 for 2 h. What’s more, the [Formula: see text]/[Formula: see text] catalyst was shown to be reusable and stable by cycling tests, and the use of active species trapping agents determined the predominance of •[Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] in the reaction system. Finally, the possible mechanism of enhancement of photocatalytic activity was initially discussed.
