Objective To study the differential diagnostic value of detecting of Angiopoietin-2(Ang-2) in malignant and benign ascites.Methods The concentrations of Ang-2 and CEA in synovia of abdominal cavity of patients with benign ascites(n=82) and malignant ascites(n=119) were measured by ELISA technique.Results The concentrations of Ang-2 and CEA in the malignant ascites group were significantly higher than those in the benign ascites group(P 0.01).The sensitivity,specificity,total accurate rate and negative predictive value of Ang-2 was 89.9%,96.3% and 92.5%,86.8% respectively,and the sensitivity,the negative predictive value and the total accurate rate was significantly higher than those of CEA(P 0.05).Coclusion Ang-2 in malignant ascites shows a certain histio-specificity.Ang-2 is an useful tumor marker in differential diagnosis of benign and malignant ascites.
The patterns of carbon flow in large rivers influenced by dams are still not well known. We hypothesized that spatial variation in fish assimilation of basal production sources would be affected by heterogeneity of landscape-scale hydrology within a watershed due to the impoundment. We used stable isotope analysis and Bayesian mixing models to estimate relative contributions of basal production sources to fish consumers in a tributary of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) with remarkably heterogeneous habitats between the upper and lower reaches. Model estimates indicated that riparian C3 plants were the main basal food source irrespective of reaches or feeding groups. Autochthonous algae carbon also appeared to be important as secondary carbon sources. However, the major contributive aquatic algae in the upstream were benthic algae while planktonic algae were important in the downstream, and this difference was related to their distinct hydrological characteristics. The contribution from C4 plants was comparatively less important to all fish consumers. Our results highlighted the significance of the riparian C3 carbon source to fish consumers in the TGR tributary and that the difference in landscape-scale characteristics was not enough to influence the pattern, which may be attributed to abundant standing stock of the riparian plants as well as hydrologic regimes in this river.

Thus, the approaches to identify potential compounds that inhibit invasion and metastasis of HCC are critical for treatment of this disease. In the present study, we used HCCLM9 cells with high metastatic potential and MHCC97L with low metastatic potential as a model system to study the molecular mechanisms of HCC metastasis. By applying cell- Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential enrichment (SELEX) against living cells, we used HCCLM9 as target cells and MHCC97L cells as control to screen a group of HCC metastasis- and cell-specific DNA aptamers. One of selected aptamers, LY-1, could specifically bind to metastatic HCC with a dissociation constant (Kd) in nanomolar range. In vitro studies demonstrated that LY-1 can recognize and bind to membrane protein of metastatic HCC cells. Furthermore, QD605 labeled LY-1 aptamer could recognize HCC cells in both local liver cancer tissues and pulmonary metastatic sites in a xenograft model of HCC with pulmonary metastasis. Further biochemical and immunostaining studies showed that LY-1 could selectively bind to a subpopulation of more metastatic cells in HCCLM9 cells, which express more CK19 and vimentin. Finally, treatment of highly metastatic cells with LY-1 led to reduced migration and invasiveness of HCCLM9 cells in vitro and suppression of xenograft growth in vivo . Taken together, the present study demonstrated the tumor targeting and tumor suppressive effects of LY-1, which could be a promising molecular probe for metastatic HCC and a potential candidate of chemotherapy for metastatic HCC.
Objective To analyse the epidemiological features of typhoid paratyphoid. Methods Desriptive epidemiological method was used to analyse the data. Results From 2004 to 2007,a total of 245 cases were confirmed,in which 166 cases(67.75%)were in Junlian County with all average annual incidene rate of 1.24/105 (annual incidence rate ranged 0.55/105-2.4/105).The disease revealed no seasonal or sexual differences. About 84.90% cases aged 40 years old. Most cases were students,farmers,cadres or office workers,persons engaged in household daties or awaiting employment and children outside kindergarten(71.84%). Conclusion The epidemiological feature of typhoid in Yibin City from 2004 to 2007 showed that the disease concentrated in Junlian County and distribated in broad occupations.

Grass carp with a body length of 15-25 cm (standard length, SL) were divided into three size groups: short body length (15-18 cm), medium body length (18-21 cm) and long body length (21-25 cm). Critical swimming speed was measured for 144 fish in an annular flume with a water temperature of (16±1)℃. SPSS17.0 software was used for data processing. The results showed that the absolute critical swimming speed of the grass carp tended to increase, while the relative critical swimming speed tended to decrease along with an increasing body length. Ultrasonic tagging showed a significant impact (<0.01) on the swimming ability of the fish in all size groups (body length 15-25 cm). The absolute critical swimming speed of the grass carp in each of the three size groups (short, medium, large) decreased by 18.72%, 16.40% and 23.15%, respectively, after ultrasound tagging, and the relative critical swimming speed of the three groups decreased by 18.95%, 17.78% and 21.86%, respectively. T-type tagging also showed a significant impact (<0.01) on the swimming ability of grass carp in the short body length group: their absolute critical swimming speed decreased by 8.35%, whereas their relative critical swimming speed decreased by 9.30%. No significant impact of T-type tagging was detected on the critical swimming speed of grass carp with a medium or long body length (18-25 cm). To explore the effective method of preventing cubitus varus deformity in nonoperative treatment of humeral supracondylar fracture in children.From May 1992 to December 2013,319 patients with hemeral supracondylar fracture in children were treated with manual reduction and external plaster fixation in extension position. There were 253 males and 66 females, aged from 15 months to 13 years old with an average of 6.7 years. Among the patients with humeral supracondylar fracture, extension type was in 284 cases and inflexion type was in 35 cases; 167 cases on the left and 152 cases on the right. Injury to treatment time was 1 hour to 7 days with a mean of 1.8 days. No included nerve injury and operative case in the patients.All patients were followed up from 3 months to 14 years with an average of 37.3 months. All fractures obtained bone healing and healed time was 6 to 8 weeks with an average of 6.9 weeks. No complications of serious cubitus varus deformity,vascular nerve injury or volkmann contracture were found. In 183 cases, the carrying angle was consistent with itself contralateral,ranged from 5° to 15°; in 105 cases, the carrying angle of uninjuryed side was decreased. During the reset, the carrying angle of 26 patients with ulnar deviation angle was for -5° to 0°; and 5 patients with radial deviation angle was for 15° to 18°, basically does not affect the appearance. The activities of all elbow joint were normal.External plaster fixation in extension position has some value to preventing cubitus varus deformity in nonoperative treatment of humeral supracondylar fracture in children and hope that more scholars to do further study.
Objective To investigate the correlation between expression of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) mRNA in peripheral blood and postoperative recurrence and prognosis in the patients with advanced colorectal cancer (CRC).Methods The preoperative and 1 month postoperative quantitative expression of hTERT mRNA in peripheral blood in 85 patients with advanced CRC were detected with real-time fluorescence quantitative real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RTPCR).The quantitative expression of hTERT mRNA in peripheral blood in 30 normal controls were also detected.The postoperative prognosis was followed-up,and the quantitative expression of hTERT mRNA in peripheral blood in the patients with recurred CRC and the patients without recurred CRC were detected repeatedly.The factors that affected the preoperative hTERT mRNA expression were analyzed.The relationship was investigated between the hTERT mRNA expression levels and postoperative recurrence and prognosis in the patients with advanced CRC.Results The hTERT mRNA expression levels in peripheral blood in advanced CRC group were significantly higher than those in the normal controls [(6.22 ±5.85)2-△△Ct vs (0.45 ±0.27)2-△△Ct,(P <0.01)],and were significantly decreased at the time point of 1 month after the operation (P < 0.01).The hTERT mRNA expression levels in the postoperative recurred CRC group were significantly higher than those in the 1 month postoperation group and no recurrence CRC group [(5.07 ± 2.87)2-△△Ct vs (1.83 ± 1.08)2-△△Ct,(2.15 ± 1.49)2-△△Ct,(P <0.01)].Univariate analysis revealed that preoperative high hTERT mRNA expression levels in peripheral blood were related to the differentiated degree of tumor,tumor size,lymph node metastasis ratio,and liver metastasis (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that differentiated degree of the tumor,lymph node metastasis,and liver metastasis were independent risk factors for the elevation of preoperative hTERT mRNA expression in the advanced CRC.Elevated preoperative hTERT mRNA expression was positively related to the postoperative recurrence rate,and was negatively related to postoperative survival rate.Conclusions Preoperative hTERT mRNA expression levels in peripheral blood were related to the important pathologic features in patients with advanced CRC,and might be a valuable prognostic factor.Postoperatively elevated hTERT mRNA expression in peripheral blood was related to recurrence of advanced CRC.

The Nu River Project comprised of 13-dam cascade is one of the biggest hydropower development projects yet conceived in China. However, hydropower development will inevitably result in the local ecological environment and biological material impact, particularly the effects on fish. Glyptothorax zainaensis is weak in swimming with suction cup and is extremely sensitive in the hydrological characteristics and water quality changes, so that it can be considered as a water quality monitor of indicator organism. Currently, with the need for conservation, fishery restoration and so on, there is a great demand for genetic information on Glyptothorax zainaensis. Fourty microsatellite loci were isolated, characterized and evaluated from Glyptothorax zainaensis. A total of 91 different alleles were observed in the 303 wild Glyptothorax zainaensis, and the percentage of polymorphic bands ranged from 41.8% to 66.7%, with an average of 90.1%. The genetic diversity value was significantly huge with the expected heterozygosity ranging from 0.578 to 0.706, the observed heterozygosity value ranging from 0.923 to 0.980 and PIC value ranging from 0.418 to 0.644, which showed that the wild Glyptothorax zainaensis population had a high level of genetic diversity. The complete mitogenome sequence of Glyptothorax laosensis was determined using long PCR reactions. The genome is 16 539 bp in length, including 13 typical vertebrate protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes and a control region. Except for eight tRNA and ND6 genes, all other mitochondrial genes are encoded on the heavy strand. The gene order and composition of G. laosensis was similar to that of most other vertebrates. The descending order of the base composition on heavy strand was 31.3% A, 27.5% C, 25.9% T, 15.3% G, with a relatively lower level of G and a slight AT bias of 57.2%. The results of phylogenetic reconstruction showed G. laosensis is the sister group with G. trilineatus (Figure 1), and the Glyptothorax genus formed a monophyletic group.
