Times of maximum of CY Aquarii: the 2010 season

The long-term behaviour of the Be star HD163868 ?

Abstract. In this paper we discuss the light variations ofHD163868 on the basis of all available photometric data origi-natingfromphotometricmonitoringduringthelasttwodecades.We suggest that one explanation of the on-and-off type vari-abilitycanbeabinaryconﬁgurationwithacompactcompanionand a period of the order of 850 days, though the observed ef-fects could also be seen in the context of positive interferenceof NRPs. The bright stages are associated with strong redden-ing consistent with an increase in circumstellar material. Wedraw the attention to the similarity with cyclically-recurrentmild S Dor phases of LBVs.Key words: stars: individual: HD163868, HD164152,HD164270 – stars: emission-line, Be – stars: variables: other1.
