Objective:To investigate changes of the cerebral white matter anisotropy in the depressives by using diffusion tensor MR imaging.Methods:9 depressives were studied using MR diffusion tensor imaging compared with 10 healthy adults. The fractional anisotropy(FA) values were measured. The ROIs were put in the frontal, temporal, occipital lobe and callosum respectively. Results:Comparing with healthy adult, significant difference of the FA values of white matter was found in bilateral frontal lobe, temporal lobe and splenium of corpus callosum in the depressives. Conclusion:There is a tenuous FA value reduction in the depresives compared with healthy adult, and the FA values in the left frontal lobe and temporal lobe are different from the right ones.
