Uniform Distribution of Individual Current in Cluster of Emitters

Electrostatic depolarization in clusters of emitters causes the emission to concentrate on the outer corners. However, ellipsoidal profiling of the heights can significantly homogenize the emitted current on the emitters. Here, we present three-dimensional analyses to improve the applicability of our previous two-dimensional clusters.

RESEARCH OF APARTMENTS’ AIR REGIME IN THE PROCESS OF OPERATION AND RECONSTRUCTION

Insufficient air exchange of apartments in gasified apartment residential buildings, as well as an apartment’s air balance when using mechanical ventilation can cause the formation and accumulation of carbon monoxide. This work is aimed at studying the air exchange of apartments when installing kitchen hoods in apartment buildings, as well as insufficient air permeability of windows in PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) bindings during the cold season. Analytical calculations and a full-scale experiment are carried out in two apartments with and without kitchen hood. The calculated air exchanges, actual air exchanges are determined: in normal operation by tenants and in conditionally maximum operating mode with open windows. The comparison of the results of analytical calculations with experimental data shows insufficient air permeability of PVC windows to maintain the necessary air exchange of natural ventilation. It becomes obvious that there are two ways to increase air exchange: regulated - opening vents and non-normative - installation of mechanical hoods. At the same time, the use of mechanical hoods can disrupt the operation of the natural ventilation system.

The energy spectrum of field emission electrons from HOPG, mwCNT and graphene-like structures

The features of the total energy distribution of electrons emitted from highly oriented pyrolytic graphite, multiwall CNT and graphene-like structure were studied experimentally by the retard potential method. It was established that in all cases there is a noticeable shift of the maximum of the energy spectrum relative to the Fermi level. The appearance of the second maximum, which is shifted from the main peak by 2 - 2.5 eV, was also found out. The half-width of the distribution is broadened in both cases when electric field increases.

The technique of visualization and evaluation of the emission site distribution for large area field emitters

This paper presents a method for online treatment of the distribution pattern of emission sites on the emitter surface, combined with a multichannel registration and processing system of the IVC. Using computerized field emission projector we have studied nanocomposite emitter based on carbon nanotubes "Taunit M" and polystyrene. The distribution pattern of emission sites over the brightness level was obtained as well as the emission area of the sample was determined. Time dependences of the current level, the total brightness and the emission area were registered.

Hysteresis phenomenon of the field emission from carbon nanotube/polymer nanocomposite

Using the high voltage scanning method and the technique of multichannel recording and processing of field emission (FE) characteristics in real time mode we found out some subtle effects on current voltage characteristics (IVC) of the multi-tip field emitters. We observed the direct and reverse hysteresis simultaneously in the same field emission experiment. Dependence of the form of IVC hysteresis on time of high voltage scanning was observed.

The distinguishing features of the new type of unheated liquid metal field emitter are reported. The emitter is based on track membrane technology and therefore its surface cam be made as large as necessary. It is cheap in construction, fabrication and exploitation. The emitter can be operated indefinitely long time in field emission, explosive emission or ion emission mode in a poor vacuum up to 10/sup -4/ Torr without a noticeable change of emission characteristics.

Some interaction peculiarities of relativistic particles with UHF electric field of high intensity at large distances

Interaction of relativistic charged particles with a high intensity UHF electric field has been studied. The magnetic component of the field is taken equal to zero. It is shown that the interaction process has some peculiarities depending on the ratio between input particle energy and field intensity. In particular, an acceleration of part of a monoenergetic electron beam on account of the other part with simultaneous energy transfer from the beam to the field is possible.
