The heterosis study on grain yield and its nine components was carried out by using line x tester analysis involving four lines and ten testers at Main Rice Research Centre, NAU, Navsari during kharif-2013. Analysis of variance revealed that all the treatments exhibited significant to highly significant variation for all the traits under study. The highest heterotic effects observed over better parent and mid parents were 29.02% and 23.62% for grain yield per plant for the crosses Krishna Kamod x IET-19389 and Krishna Kamod x GNR-2, respectively. Considerable magnitude of heterosis and heterobeltiosis was observed for grain yield per plant, panicle length, grains per panicle and amylose content. Crosses viz., Krishna Kamod x GNR-2, Krishna Kamod x IET-19389, Acharmati x GR-11, Krishna Kamod x IET-19419 and Acharmati x GR-11 were found to be most heterotic hybrids for grain yield per plant due tosimultaneous increase in grains per panicle and panicles per plant.
