The tourism teachers' responsibility and target is to make tourism education serve the local economy so that the talent training conforms to the development of the local economy.At present Jiangxi provincial government is trying to build Jiangxi into the big tourism province.Under such background,developing tourism is one of measures of Jiujiang city.Tourism science is a basic compulsory course for the tourism management specialty.This paper explores the teaching reform of tourism science.The author thinks that the course should base itself on the local economy and culture and make full use of the excellent teaching resources within the school and that teachers should make breakthrough in the course building and classroom teaching design.
