Crystallography of Zr poisoning of Al-Ti-B grain refinement using edge-to-edge matching model

The mechanism of zirconium poisoning on the grain-refining efficiency of an Al-Ti-B based grain refiner was studied. The experiment was conducted by melting Al-5Ti-1B and Al-3Zr master alloys together. The edge-to-edge matching model was used to investigate and compare the orientation relationships between the binary intermetallic compounds present in the Al-Ti-B-Zr system. The results show that the poisoning effect probably results from the combination of Al3 Zr with Al3 Ti and the decreased amount of Ti solute, for Al3 Ti particles have good crystallographic relationships with Al3 Zr. Totally six orientation relationships may present between them, while they play vital roles in grain refinement. TiB2 particles appear to remain unchanged because of a bit large misfit. Only one orientation relationship may present between them to prevent Al3 Zr phase from forming on the surface of TiB2, though TiB2 is agglomerated. The theoretical calculation agrees well with the experimental results. The edge-to-edge matching model is proved to be a useful tool for discovering the orientation relationships between phases.

Influence of precipitation on recrystallization texture of AA3104 aluminum alloy

was detected in the final hot rolled sheet. At the beginning of annealing at 350 °C, the cube component {001} got a sharp increase. TEM results show that the growth of both number and size of precipitation appears to inhibit the advantage of Cube orientation {001} notably after annealing at 350 °C for 15 min. Finally, it comes out to be a random distributed orientation by full recrystallization.

Al-Ti-C与Al-Ti-B晶粒细化剂的Zr中毒机理

The poisoning mechanism of zirconium on the grain-refining efficiency of Al-Ti-C and Al-Ti-B based grain refiner was been studied by observing the phases distribution between Al3Zr, Al3Ti, TiC and TiB2 particles in the Al-Ti-Zr-C and/or Al-Ti-Zr-B alloys using X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The results show that Al3Zr particles are easy to combine with Al3Ti particles both in Al-Ti-Zr-C and Al-Ti-Zr-B alloys, the potency of Al3Ti performed as nucleation centers is impaired and results in the poisoning phenomenon. While TiC and TiB2 particles seem not to integrate with Al3Zr particles though the agglomeration of TiB2 particles. The calculation results of edge-to-edge matching model (E2EM) indicate that Al3Zr has a better crystallographic matching with Al3Ti and α-Ti solute than it does with TiC and TiB2 particles, which implies the quantities of the orientation relationships (ORs) between the matrix and precipitate can be used as a crystallography theoretical consultation in designing grain refiner.

时效处理对Al-7．8Zn．1．6Mg-1．8Cu-0．12Zr合金超声铸锭轧件组织与抗腐蚀性能的影响

分别采用T6、T73和RRA3种时效制度对超声铸造Al-7．8Zn-1．6Mg-1．8Cu-0．12Zr铝合金热轧板进行时效处理，研究时效制度对材料的组织、力学性能与耐腐蚀性能的影响，并与未经超声熔体处理的合金热轧板进行对比。结果表明：对于超声铸造Al-7．8Zn-1．6Mg-1．8Cu-0．12Zr铝合金的热轧板，与T6时效态合金相比，T73时效态合金的抗腐蚀性能较好，但强度显著降低，RRA状态的合金强度与T6态合金相当，抗腐蚀性能显著提高；相对于未经超声熔体处理的合金，在超声波的空化、声流和机械振动效应的作用下，铸态合金的合金元素固溶度以及基体空位浓度都增加，在其组织遗传效应的影响下，采用相同时效工艺处理后合金中析出相的分布更加均匀但出现部分粗化现象，均匀分布的细小析出相对合金的强度有积极影响，粗化的析出相对合金的强度不利，但能提高合金的耐腐蚀性能。

平衡相对Al-7．8Zn-1．6Mg-1．8Cu-0．12Zr铝合金性能影响：第一性原理研究

采用基于热力学相图计算软件Thermo—Calc、JMatPro对典型成分7085合金的平衡相种类及含量进行了计算分析，并结合基于第一性原理的赝势平面波方法和广义梯度近似方法采用CASTEP软件包系统计算了各平衡相的形成热、结合能、费米能以及弹性常数，并根据计算结果探讨了平衡相对合金耐蚀性能以及强韧性能的影响。计算结果表明：合金中除α-Al基体外，主要为MgZn2，Al2Cu，Al3Zr。所有平衡相的形成均为自发反应的放热过程。其中，MgZn2与α—Al费米能值相差最大，最易与α-Al形成微腐蚀电池而导致合金耐蚀性能下降，而Al2Cu相与α-Al基体的费米能差值最小，相对不易形成微腐蚀电池。弹性模量计算结果同时表明：Al3Zr在所有相中具有最大的体模量、剪切模量、弹性模量以及杨氏模量，对合金强韧性能提升最大。

Al-Ti-C和Al-Ti-B对7050铝合金微观组织与力学性能的影响

采用金相显微镜（OM）、扫描电镜（SEM）及能谱仪（EDS）,结合拉伸力学性能与维氏硬度测试,研究了Al-5Ti-1B和Al-5Ti-0.2C晶粒细化剂对含Zr的7050铝合金铸态、均匀化态以及时效变形态的微观组织演变规律、第二相析出行为及力学性能的影响。结果表明：在7050合金中,Zr元素会使Al-5Ti-1B和Al-5Ti-0.2C均发生细化＂中毒现象＂,降低晶粒细化剂的细晶效果;与Al-Ti-1B相比,增大Al-Ti-0.2C晶粒细化剂的添加量对于缓解＂Zr中毒＂现象,细化晶粒更有效,且能够提高合金强度与硬度,并使合金保持较好伸长率;同时,使用Al-5Ti-0.2C晶粒细化剂的7050合金,其第二相的分布较使用Al-5Ti-1B晶粒细化剂更加弥散、均匀。
