Search for the radiative transition $\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\gamma \psi_2(3823)$

Using 9.0 $\rm fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies from 4.178 to 4.278 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we perform the first search for the radiative transition $\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\gamma \psi_2(3823)$. No $\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\gamma \psi_2(3823)$ signal is observed. The upper limit on the ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\gamma \psi_2(3823), \psi_2(3823)\to\gamma\chi_{c1})/\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c1}(3872)\to\pi^+\pi^- J/\psi)$ is set as 0.075 at the 90\% confidence level. Our result contradicts theoretical predictions under the assumption that the $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ is the pure charmonium state $\chi_{c1}(2P)$.

Tailoring Magnetic Exchange Interactions in Ferromagnet-Intercalated MnBi2Te4 Superlattices

The intrinsic magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4 (MBT) has provided a platform for the successful realization of exotic quantum phenomena. To broaden the horizons of MBT-based material systems, we intercalate ferromagnetic MnTe layers to construct the [(MBT)(MnTe)m]N superlattices by molecular beam epitaxy. The effective incorporation of ferromagnetic spacers mediates the anti-ferromagnetic interlayer coupling among the MBT layers through the exchange spring effect at the MBT/MnTe hetero-interfaces. Moreover, the precise control of the MnTe thickness enables the modulation of relative strengths among the constituent magnetic orders, leading to tunable magnetoelectric responses, while the superlattice periodicity serves as an additional tuning parameter to tailor the spin configurations of the synthesized multi-layers. Our results demonstrate the advantages of superlattice engineering for optimizing the magnetic interactions in MBT-family systems, and the ferromagnet-intercalated strategy opens up new avenues in magnetic topological insulator structural design and spintronic applications.

Search for a massless dark photon in c→uγ′ decays

Using 7.9fb−1 of e+e− collision data collected at s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we search for the massless dark photon with the flavor-changing neutral current processes D0→ωγ′ and D0→γγ′ for the first time. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the massless dark photon branching fraction are set to be 1.1×10−5 and 2.0×10−6 for D0→ωγ′ and D0→γγ′, respectively. These results provide the most stringent constraint on the new physics energy scale associated with cuγ′ coupling in the world, with the new physics energy scale related parameter |C|2+|C5|2<8.2×10−17 GeV−2 at the 90% confidence level. Anisotropy and density of cosmic rays in a vicinity of a neutral surface of the interplanetary magnetic field

During the periods of crossings of a neutral surface the intensity of cosmic rays is accompanied by the increase during both positive and negative epochs of the solar magnetic field. The increase of cosmic rays during crossing of neutral current sheet is caused, apparently, by the interaction of fast front line of a solar wind stream with a slow wind of previous stream. During a positive epoch the anisotropy increases during changing of the sign from positive to negative one and decreases during back changing. During the negative epoch it behaves in the opposite way. The reason of distribution of density and anisotropy in the vicinity of a point of excessive bend of the neutral surface is discussed.

Live imaging of the extracellular matrix with a glycan-binding fluorophore

Abstract All multicellular systems produce and dynamically regulate extracellular matrices (ECMs) that play essential roles in both biochemical and mechanical signaling. Though the spatial arrangement of these extracellular assemblies is critical to their biological functions, visualization of ECM structure is challenging, in part because the biomolecules that compose the ECM are difficult to fluorescently label individually and collectively. Here, we present a cell-impermeable small-molecule fluorophore, termed Rhobo6, that turns on and red shifts upon reversible binding to glycans. Given that most ECM components are densely glycosylated, the dye enables wash-free visualization of ECM, in systems ranging from in vitro substrates to in vivo mouse mammary tumors. Relative to existing techniques, Rhobo6 provides a broad substrate profile, superior tissue penetration, non-perturbative labeling, and negligible photobleaching. This work establishes a straightforward method for imaging the distribution of ECM in live tissues and organisms, lowering barriers for investigation of extracellular biology.

Amplitude analysis and branching fraction measurement of the decay \boldmath $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$

The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ is observed, using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 $\rm fb^{-1}$ recorded by the BESIII detector at the centre-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV. The first amplitude analysis of $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ reveals the sub-structures in this decay and determines the fractions and relative phases of different intermediate processes. The dominant intermediate process is $D_s^+ \to K^{*0}ρ^+$, with a fit fraction of $(40.5\pm2.8_{\rm{stat.}}\pm1.5_{\rm{syst.}})\%$. With the detection efficiency based on our amplitude analysis, the absolute branching fraction for $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ is measured to be $(9.75\pm0.54_{\rm{stat.}}\pm0.17_{\rm{syst.}})\times 10^{-3}$.

Delayed fluorescence (DF) is a unique emitting phenomenon of great interest for important applications in organic optoelectronics. In general, DF requires well-separated frontier orbitals, inherently corresponding to charge transfer (CT)-type emitters.
