Green Synthesis of Large-Scale Highly Ordered Core@Shell Nanoporous Au@Ag Nanorod Arrays as Sensitive and Reproducible 3D SERS Substrates

We present a simple green synthetic approach to large-scale and highly ordered arrays of vertical nanoporous Au nanorods, with an ultrathin Ag-layer in situ electrodeposited on each nanoporous Au nanorod (denoted as core@shell nanoporous Au@Ag nanorod). As both the nanopores within each nanorod and the gaps between the neighboring nanorods create three-dimensional (3D) "hot spots" homogeneously distributed throughout the whole substrate, the core@shell nanoporous Au@Ag nanorod arrays were proved to be sensitive and reproducible surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates. Not only universal probe molecules (rhodamine 6G, R6G) but also nonadsorbing molecules (polychlorinated biphenyls, PCBs) have been detected by using the substrates. After mono-6-thio-β-cyclodextrin (HS-β-CD) was modified to efficiently capture more PCBs molecules, the detection limit of PCBs was further reduced to 5.35 × 10–7 M. As a trial of practical application, R6G and PCBs with different molar ratios in their mixed solutions were identified, and two congeners of PCBs in their mixture could also be distinguished, showing great potentials in real-time simultaneous detection of multiple pollutants.

Effect of Different Ratios of Si-Al of Zeolite HZSM-5 on the Activity of Bifunctional Catalysts Upon Dimethyl Ether Synthesis

Abstract Four bifunctional catalysts were prepared by physical mixing of a commercial methanol synthesis catalyst (JC207 catalyst, a catalyst for methanol synthesis, which has been industrialized in China) with zeolite HZSM-5 (Si-Al ratios of 25, 38, 50, 150) as a methanol dehydration catalyst. The bifunctional catalyst (JC207/HZSM-5 [Si/Al = 38]) showed better performance, which can be attributed to more acidic sites with moderate strength of zeolite, and which can control methanol dehydration rate, which is a rate determining step. Purification of monoclonal antibody against PGRP and its activity for small cell lung cancer in vitro

Objective To explore the effect of purification on monoclonal antibody (MAb) against PGRP by Protein A-Sepharose affinity chromatography, and to provide some based data for the purification of other antibody using the same method. Methods The ascites which include MAb was purified by Protein A-Sepharose affinity chromatography. The purity and activity of MAb was tested by SDS-PAGE and ELISA. The biological function was identified by flow cytometer and immunohistochemistry. Results The average concentration of protein in ascites before purification is 23.62 mg/ml. Before and after purification, the total protein is 148.79 mg and 146.67 mg, respectively. The recovery coefficient of protein is 98.58%. The concentration of MAb in ascites is 5.21 mg/ml averagely. The MAb purity is more than 95 %. The immunoactivity of purified antibody is higher than that of unpurified antibody. Conclusion The purity of MAb against PGRP purified by Protein A-Sepharose affinity chromatography is very high. The immunoactivity of purified antibody is higher than that of unpurified antibody. So the ProteinA-Sepharose affinity chromatography is a rapid, convenient and reliable method for the purification of MAb Against PGRP. Moiré superlattices have emerged as an exciting condensed-matter quantum simulator for exploring the exotic physics of strong electronic correlations. Notable progress has been witnessed, but such correlated states are achievable usually at low temperatures. Here, we report evidence of possible room-temperature correlated electronic states and layer-hybridized SU(4) model simulator in AB-stacked MoS_{2} homobilayer moiré superlattices. Correlated insulating states at moiré band filling factors v=1, 2, 3 are unambiguously established in twisted bilayer MoS_{2}. Remarkably, the correlated electronic state at v=1 shows a giant correlated gap of ∼126 meV and may persist up to a record-high critical temperature over 285 K. The realization of a possible room-temperature correlated state with a large correlated gap in twisted bilayer MoS_{2} can be understood as the cooperation effects of the stacking-specific atomic reconstruction and the resonantly enhanced interlayer hybridization, which largely amplify the moiré superlattice effects on electronic correlations. Furthermore, extreme large nonlinear Hall responses up to room temperature are uncovered near correlated electronic states, demonstrating the quantum geometry of moiré flat conduction band.

A Generic Approach to Desired Metallic Nanowires Inside Native Porous Alumina Template via Redox Reaction

We report a facile, economic, and generic way to mono- and multisegment metallic nanowires (MNWs) of various pure metals (e.g., Au, Pt, Pd, Cu, Ni, and Co) and their alloys with both linear and branched topologies, by merely infiltrating aqueous solutions of metal chloride salts into Au-coated native porous anodic aluminum oxide template with Al foil on its outside edge. Redox reactions of two galvanic cells where the Al foil acts as the anode are responsible for the formation of the MNWs. Redox reaction of the top galvanic cells on the surrounding Al foil leads to the formation of metal atoms on the Al foil surface, which subsequently diffuse away from the Al foil and into the nanochannels. Simultaneously, redox reaction of the bottom galvanic cell where the Au layer serves as a cathode results in the formation of metal atoms on the top surface of the bottom Au layer, followed by crystal nucleus formation and growth upward the channels to form short MNWs. With the elongation of the infiltration duration, the diffusing metal atoms coming from the top galvanic cells reach the tips of the growing MNWs, and combine with those on the MNW tips coming from the bottom galvanic cell, resulting in longer MNWs under the nanochannel geometrical confinement. The approach enables excellent control over the composition, location, length, and diameter of the individual segments and the topology of the overall NWs that are promising for many applications in nanotechnology.

Synthesis of AuNi/NiO Nanocables by Porous AAO Template Assisted Galvanic Deposition and Subsequent Oxidation

Abstract A facile and economic approach has been developed for the synthesis of coaxial nanocables with AuNi alloy nanowires as inner solid cores and NiO as outer shells by infiltrating a gold‐coated anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template, with ring‐shaped Al foil on its outer edge, with a mixed aqueous solution of NiCl 2 and HAuCl 4 to form AuNi/Ni nanocables, and subsequent immersion in an aqueous NaOH solution to oxidize the Ni sheath during template removal. The formation of the AuNi/Ni nanocables in the channels of the AAO template could be ascribed to the reduction of the Ni 2+ ion complexes adhering on the AAO channel walls and the redox reactions of two galvanic cells in which the surrounding Al foil acts as the anode. The approach enables excellent control over the shell thickness and the chemical composition of the AuNi/NiO nanocable by tuning the composition of the mixed solution. The AuNi/NiO nanocables have potentials in nanodevices and nanosystems.

Andreev reflection and spin polarization measurement of Co/YBCO junction

We report temperature dependent Andreev reflection measurements of Co/ Y$_{1}$Ba$_{2}$Cu$_{3}$O$_{7-δ}$ (YBCO) heterostructure samples with junction areas of 1 $μ$m diameter. Modelling of the 5-70 K conductivity data according to a modified Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk theory yields a spin polarization in Co film amounting to 34% which is almost constant up to 70 K. The YBCO films have been grown by pulsed laser deposition on sapphire substrates. The Co films are deposited by thermal evaporation on YBCO. The film is characterized by powder X-ray diffraction measurements which shows YBCO is grown in (001) direction.The critical current density, 5 x 10$^{6}$ A/cm$^{2}$, in YBCO remains nearly constant after deposition of Co at zero field and 77 K.
