Previous studies of the possible effects of the moon's phases upon human behavior initially yielded contradictory results and later more consistently negative results. The present study capitalized on a captive deviant sample prone to aggression, one of the earlier targeted behaviors. A Pearson correlation between number of reported incidents in a Texas prison and the amount of lunar luminosity (lunar phases) yielded no significant correlation.
This paper documents the rate of referral to an eating disorders service for adults which predominantly serves a large defined catchment area. It also defines the proportion of all new patients which presented with such disorders. People with eating disorders amounted to about one in ten of young women and one in 30 of all patients presenting to psychiatric services for the first time.
A simulated stalled car with its hood up was parked at the side of a highway. Either a male or a female confederate was visible, while the confederate of the opposite sex remained inside, in an invisible position. A tabulation was made of how many drivers stopped to help each sex. A difference for sex was found for frequency of offers of assistance; the females received more offers of aid than the males. Implications for the Women's Liberation Movement were discussed.

El piso y el proyecto vital que para pacientes desencadena, en cuanto a integracion laboral con aquellos que sea posible, y en cuanto a la progresiva participacion en recursos sociales (servicios comunitarios, tiempo de ocio, etc. ) es acorde con el derecho constitucional de atencion a disminuidos, recogida en el art. 49 de la Constitucion espanola: los poderes publicos realizaran una politica de revision, tratamiento, rehabilitacion e integracion de disminuidos fisicos, sensoriales y psiquicos, a que prestaran la asistencia especializada que requieran y amparara especialmente para el disfrute de derechos que este titulo otorga a todos ciudadanos.
El piso protegido no es por tanto un metodo revolucionario, es la consecuencia logica de la evolucion en la concepcion de la asistencia en el campo de la salud mental y su puesta en marcha es ya clasica en algunas comunidades. Es interesante considerar inicialmente la vertiente de derechos fundamentales de todo individuo y recordar la responsabilidad de poderes publicos de esta manera. (...).
A number of psychiatrists and psychologists declared in the past year that the newly elected president was unfit to hold office due to mental illness, or being dangerous. Such declarations were made even though the subject had not been personally interviewed or tested and, consequently, they are guilty of malpractice. This has aggravated the already toxic milieu, wherein various prominent individuals have called for a coup d’etat to take place and families have broken up over election choices. Historical precedents for the current actions of these psychiatrists are presented, both in the United States and overseas. Dissenting psychiatrists brought up the Goldwater Rule that was created after the 1964 presidential election, which states that a psychiatrist may not make pronouncements of mental health on an individual that they have not personally examined. It is urged that the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science adopt the ethical Goldwater Rule.
