A capacitor-coupled stacked-based sense amplifier with enhanced offset tolerance for low power SRAM

A capacitor-coupled stacked-based sense amplifier (CC-STSA) is proposed to compensate the input-referred offset voltage (VOS), which dictates the minimum required bitline swing for a reliable read operation of static random access memory (SRAM). The data-aware coupled capacitors are employed to dynamically tune the driving ability of sensing transistors according to the data supposed to be read, thus improving the offset tolerance of sense amplifier (SA). Compared with the conventional current latch-type SA (CLSA), the simulation results in 55-nm CMOS technology show that the proposed scheme achieves more than 4.17X of the standard deviation of VOS (σOS) reduction across the range of supply voltage from 0.6V to 1.2V and reduce the read energy consumption and read delay to 54.9% and 45.5% respectively. Furthermore, the proposed scheme reduces the σOS by 2.19X compared to DIBBSA on average.

With the rapid development of network, WLAN, which is being widely applied on various occasions, becomes the hotspot of the marketplace. This paper brings forward a intrusion detection system model named after DWIDS (A Distributed Wireless-LAN Intrusion Detection System Model based on Computer Immunology), which can be used to effectively compensate for the defects of the traditional technology on safety protection. The DWIDS applies the principles of the computer immunology to IDS; that is to say, several different detection agents work coordinately and distributedly in each AP and cooperate with each other to detect intrusions. The self-learning mechanism of the sandbox not only studies the unknown intrusions, but also abstracts the rules and collects the evidence. Nowadays, with the popularization of WLAN, the application of DWIDS undoubtedly improves the safety coefficient of entire network, increases the usage ratio of network, and decreases the fund invested in the safety troubles of enterprises and departments.

Curing simulation and data-driven curing curve prediction of thermoset composites

Molding has been widely used to manufacture thermoset composite structures in the aerospace and automotive industries owing to its efficiency in reducing the number of parts and the manufacturing cost. For such molded composite parts, the degree-of-cure curve is generally used to evaluate the solidification of the resin. Nevertheless, in simulation of cure is not the cure model itself, but rather knowing the initial conditions such as fiber volume fraction, initial curing degree, convective boundary conditions etc. Additionally, solving the heat transfer coupled with the cure kinetics presents additional requirements for time, making artificial intelligence tools promising for these problems. This paper focuses on developing a data-driven approach for predicting the degree-of-cure curve. The simulated degree-of-cure curve for the model corresponds to a specific temperature-time curve was verified by the published value. Then, the temperature-time and the resulting degree-of-cure-time curves obtained from finite element simulations were created for training the prediction models using machine learning approaches of support vector regression (SVR), back propagation (BP) neural network and BP neural network optimized by genetic algorithm (GA-BP). The validation and evaluation indices illustrate that the degree-of-cure curve prediction model trained by the GA-BP neural network yields the highest accuracy.

Design and Modeling of a Non-Flat Foldable Tubular Kirigami With Compliant Joints

Abstract This paper applies the kirigami technique to a non-rigid foldable tubular origami to make a rigid foldable tubular design, i.e., a radially closable kirigami (RC-kiri). The laminar emergent torsional (LET) compliant joint is applied to surrogate the crease, which makes the design applicable in practical engineering applications. By incorporating a non-flat folding design, the folding angles of each crease are minimized, leading to a reduction in the strain exerted on engineering materials. The kinetostatic theoretical model is constructed using the principle of virtual work, and its results are compared with those obtained from a simulation model in finite element analysis (FEA). A 3D printed physical model is tested to obtain the relationship between forces and displacements. FEA and experimental results match with theoretical findings. This study builds a bridge between origami and kirigami and expands the application of LET joints to the fabrication of tubular kirigami.
