Trials of a New Stirrer-less Juice Sulphiter at Experimental Sugar Factory

In India most of the sugar factories produce plantation white sugar by Double Sulphitation process where the most essential and critical equipment used during the clarification process is “juice sulphiter”. The clarification efficiency is very much dependent upon the efficiency of juice sulphiter also which in turn depends upon the design features of juice sulphiter. Authors have tried one such juice sulphiter which is also considered as energy efficient at the Experimental Sugar Factory of the Institute with satisfactory results.

Using Machine Learning to Enable Edge Computing for IoT Applications

An enormous quantity of data is being generated at the edge of networks as a result of the Internet of Things' (IoT) exponential expansion, creating problems with efficiency, latency, and data processing. As a response to these issues, edge computing has arisen, bringing data processing closer to the data source. By enabling intelligent data analytics and edge decision-making in this environment, machine learning plays a key role. This study explores the advantages, difficulties, and practical ramifications of the convergence of machine learning and edge computing for IoT applications. For IoT devices used in complicated scenarios, machine learning is a potential method for deriving trustworthy information from unprocessed sensor data. Machine learning is suitable for the edge computing environment because to its layered structure. Rigidity in IoT edge computing is resolved through flexible edge computing architecture. The suggested model integrates machine learning with flexible edge computing architecture and many agents. We also provide a novel offloading technique to boost the performance of IoT machine learning applications due to the restricted processing power of the present edge nodes. A flexible and cutting-edge paradigm for IoT systems, FEC architecture is notable for its capacity for focusing on users and environment adaption. Testing machine learning operations in the edge computing environment using the FEC architecture is part of performance evaluation. The evaluation's results show that our method outperforms other machine learning solutions for IoT optimisation.

Navigation Tool for Visually Impaired Hurdle Recognition using Image Processing and IoT

A device made to help visually challenged people navigate their surroundings using image processing and the Internet of Things. Traditional walking aids are ineffective at detecting impediments, making it challenging for blind people to move around on their own. Obstacles are identified by the smart walking stick's camera and ultrasonic sensor, which also calculate the user's distance from the object. A sound is produced in the user's headphones when an obstruction is identified, alerting them to the obstacle. For visually impaired people who might need assistance navigating their environment, this technology is a useful aid. The stick has a camera that takes pictures of the surrounding area. These pictures are subsequently analyzed using image processing algorithms to find barriers and other important details. The stick is also linked to the Internet of Things (IoT), which enables it to interact with other devices and offer further functionality.
