Clinical Efficiency and Safety of Riamilovir for Treating Patients with SARS-CoV-2 Infection

Aim. The study evaluates clinical effectiveness and safety of etiotropic antiviral medications with a direct mechanism of action (Riamilovir, Ribavirin, Umifenovir) for the treatment of moderate SARS-CoV-2 infection in adults. Materials and methods . The study used the data from 59 health records of patients with moderate PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection. Control group included 29 patients treated with 1250 mg Riamilovir off-label per day for 5 days (250 mg 5 times a day), comparison group consisted of 30 patients, who received 800 mg Ribavirin and Umifenovir per day for 5 days. The effectiveness of the medications was assessed by the duration and severity of general infectious and respiratory syndromes, anosmia and ageusia, as well as the oxygen content in the blood, the timing of SARS-COV-2 virus elimination from the body according to the results of control studies of nasopharyngeal swabs using the PCR method and dynamics of blood tests results. Results . A statistically significant decrease in the duration of fever, cough, and anosmia and a more rapid elimination of the virus from the body were noted in the group of patients receiving Riamilovir. Decreased levels of non-specific inflammatory markers in blood serum, as well as normal values of liver enzymes were observed in control group during therapy, as opposed to the comparison group. No serious adverse events were noted when using the medication. Conclusion . Nucleoside analogue medication Riamilovir showed good effectiveness and safety profile in adult patients with moderate SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The Eﬃcacy and Safety of Riamilovir in the Treatment of Patients with COVID-19

Aim. Evaluation of the eﬃcacy, safety, and tolerability of Riamilovir (trade name «Triazavirin®») in patients with mild COVID-19. Materials and methods. The randomized open-label study included 120 patients with clinical and epidemiological manifestations of coronavirus infection and its laboratory (PCR) conﬁrmation. Results. The eﬃcacy, safety, as well as good tolerability of Riamilovir in the treatment of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been established. Conclusion. The results of the study on the eﬃcacy, safety, and tolerability of Riamilovir allow us to recommend it as a means of etiotropic therapy of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Study of Riamilovir Activity Against SARS-CoV-2 Infection In Syrian Hamsters

The activity of the antimetabolic drug Riamilovir (Triazavirin ® ) was studied on a model of SARS-CoV-2 infection on Syrian hamsters. Infectious process was caused by the intranasal administration of the virus accumulated in the Vero-B culture with a concentration of 4.25×10 4 TCID 50 , in a volume of 26 µl/hamster. The eﬀects of the drug at a dose of 20 mg/kg intraperitoneally daily in the midst of the infectious process were traced to accelerate the clearance of the virus in the lungs, prevent body weight loss and the severity of pulmonary edema, as well as preserve the mass of the spleen. The protective eﬀects of Riamilovir on the structure of the lungs and brain are shown, it is suggested that the drug has the ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. It was concluded that Riamilovir has antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2.

[OsH4(PPh3)3]: New Catalyst for the Selective Cyclopropanation of Activated Olefins

The title compound was found to be an efficient catalyst for the selective cyclopropanation of activated olefins by ethyl diazoacetate. The cyclopropane yields range from moderate to good (75 to 95%) for activated olefins such as styrene and styrene derivatives, but are rather low (20 to 30%) for non-activated olefins such as terminal and cyclic alkenes. In the intermolecular competition, styrene was 45 times more reactive than cyclooctene. In all cases, trans ( exo ) cyclopropane predominated over the cis ( endo ) isomer.

The practice of using a domestic antiviral drug in the etiotropic therapy of acute respiratory viral infection

Aim.Evaluation of efficacy, safety, tolerability, and determination of the optimal dose of riamilovir in patients diagnosed with acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI). Materials and methods.The study included 270 patients with uncomplicated ARVI of mild and moderate severity (with a laboratory-confirmed PCR method for the presence of ARVI antigens, absence of influenza virus antigens). Patients were included in the study after signing an informed consent. Patients were randomized into 3 groups in a 1:1:1 ratio of 90 patients in each group. Completed the study in accordance with the Protocol: 267 patients. The study involved patients diagnosed with ARVI. Results.Confirmed the efficacy, safety and tolerability of the drug riamilovir. Adverse drug reactions associated, in the opinion of the doctor, with taking the drug and resulting in discontinuation of the drug, were not noted in this study. Conclusion.As a result of clinical study, the effectiveness of both ARVI treatment regimens with drug riamilovir has been shown. There were no differences in the effectiveness and safety of the proposed treatment regimens. Practical use of both treatment regimens is recommended. However, according to the authors, taking the drug 3 times a day is much more convenient for patients, improves the quality of life and adherence to therapy.
