Anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) injury is one of the most common injuries in sports medicine, resulting in chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI). The patients' daily life may be seriously affected by ankle osteoarthritis and other irreversible damages, if the ATFL injury is not treated in time and drags on. Patients with ATFL injury who show no significant recovery after 3-6 months of conservative treatment should consider surgical treatment as soon as possible to restore ankle stability and function. This study aims to investigate the effect of double-bands anatomical reconstruction of the ATFL's fibular enthesis for the treatment of CLAI.
Objective To evalue the effect of submucous inferior turbinectomy via nasal lateral wall dissection approach for chronic hypertrophic rhinitis and to present the surgical method. Methods 28 chronic rhinitis patients with inferior turbinate hypertrophy confirmed by CT received submucous inferior turbinectomy via nasal lateral wall dissection approach. The surgical effects were assessed by visual analogue scale(VAS) and acoustic rhinomotry at different time points(preoperatively,3 and 12 months postoperatively). Results 20 cases were cured,6 cases were improved, and 2 cases were of no effect. There were no major complications such as dryness, scab, conglutination and atresia of nasolacrimal duct. Conclusion Submucous inferior turbinectomy via nasal lateral wall dissection approach is effective for the treatment for chronic rhinitis with inferior turbinate hypertrophy.
