Design Scheme for New Workover Mechanical System

In workover operation, conventional way makes the process complex, labor intensity high and operating environment hostile. For solving the problem, the new scheme for workover mechanical system was put forward. Hanger was removed in the system. We can execute tube movement with macro/micro mechanical arm and achieve sending down and lifting pipe with supporting mechanical hands. It is designed for the first time in china.

Highly thermal conductive benzoxazine‐epoxy interpenetrating polymer networks containing liquid crystalline structures Part B Polymer physics

A diamine‐based benzoxazine monomer (Bz) and a liquid crystalline epoxy monomer (LCE) are synthesized, respectively. Subsequently, a benzoxazine‐epoxy interpenetrating polymer network (PBEI) containing liquid crystalline structures is obtained by sequential curing of the LCE and the Bz in the presence of imidazole. The results show that the preferential curing of LCE plays a key role in the formation mechanism of liquid crystalline phase. Due to the introduction of liquid crystalline structures, the thermal conductivity of PBEI increases with increasing content of LCE. When the content of LCE is 80 wt %, the thermal conductivity reaches 0.32 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹. Additionally, the heat‐resistance of PBEI is superior to liquid crystalline epoxy resin. Among them, PBEI55 containing equal weight of Bz and LCE has better comprehensive performance. Its thermal conductivity, glass transition temperature, and the 5 % weight loss temperature are 0.28 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹, 160 °C, and 339 °C, respectively. By introducing boron nitride (BN) fillers into PBEI55, a composite of PBEI/BN with the highest thermal conductivity of 3.00 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹ is obtained. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Interval Observer Based Fault Detection for Lipschitz Nonlinear Systems Under Ellipsoidal Analysis

ABSTRACT This study devotes itself to the issue of fault detection for a class of discrete‐time Lipschitz nonlinear systems by virtue of a set of restricted frequency‐domain specifications. First of all, unlike traditional Luenberger‐like observers, which only contain a unitary parameter matrix, a novel, more design–degree of freedom incorporated fault detection observer (FDO) under linear‐matrix‐inequality (LMI) conditions is innovatively constructed to access a more flexible practical adjustment range. And the evaluations of both fault sensitivity and disturbance robustness were quantified via finite‐frequency and indices, respectively. Besides, the actuator and sensor faults were concurrently addressed in a more wide circumstance, where the reformulated Lipschitz property is utilized to handle what the complex nonlinear term causes. Furthermore, a novel, less computational dynamic threshold based on the ellipsoidal set‐membership technique was creatively synthesized during timely fault detection so as to guarantee a smaller range of residual intervals. Finally, simulation examples were conducted to demonstrate the viability and validity of the proposed strategy.

Improve RRT Algorithm for Path Planning in Complex Environments

This paper proposes an improved RRT algorithm, which overcomes the problems of non-optimal path and low planning success rate in complex environments. First, the algorithm introduces a memory strategy that avoids the problem of oversampling or falling into local minimum in the non-convex environment during the process of expanding random tree. Then, the heuristic function is used to guide the growth of random tree and neighborhood expansion strategy is used to avoid the "rewiring" process of RRT* algorithm, which improves the real-time planning performance. Finally, simulation experiments are performed in different types of maps to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

The Engine Casing Machining Holes Repairing Based on Vibration Wire Feeding

The engine casing components operate in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. Process holes are drilled when defects occur. Welding is employed in the repair of process holes as a process for permanently joining materials. The traditional welding method relies on padding, which results in poor back formation of process holes. Additionally, the shape of the process holes imposes high requirements on the size of the droplet transition. The conventional approach of adjusting a welding current makes it difficult to achieve stable droplet transition and precise formation of small holes. It poses a challenge for the robotic welding process. To deal with this problem, the influence of the high-frequency vibration GTAW process on the directional transition of molten droplets is studied. The molten droplet directional transition process is developed. The impact of vibration energy on the molten pool is reduced. Welding repair experiments for process holes are successfully conducted. When the frequency is 3 Hz, the transition of droplets changes from a continuous one-droplet transition to a discontinuous liquid bridge transition. The residual height and mechanical properties of the repaired area are tested. The experimental results indicated that the residual height after dual-side repair is ≤0.7 mm. The X-ray and fluorescent penetration tests have a 100% first-pass qualification rate. The repaired area demonstrates a hardness of 480 HV and a room-temperature tensile strength of 1069 MPa. The repair process requirements for the casing are met.

Walk in Their Shoes to Navigate Your Own Path: Learning About Procrastination Through A Serious Game

Procrastination, the voluntary delay of tasks despite potential negative consequences, has prompted numerous time and task management interventions in the HCI community. While these interventions have shown promise in addressing specific behaviors, psychological theories suggest that learning about procrastination itself may help individuals develop their own coping strategies and build mental resilience. However, little research has explored how to support this learning process through HCI approaches. We present ProcrastiMate, a text adventure game where players learn about procrastination's causes and experiment with coping strategies by guiding in-game characters in managing relatable scenarios. Our field study with 27 participants revealed that ProcrastiMate facilitated learning and self-reflection while maintaining psychological distance, motivating players to integrate newly acquired knowledge in daily life. This paper contributes empirical insights on leveraging serious games to facilitate learning about procrastination and offers design implications for addressing psychological challenges through HCI approaches.

Analysis of Hydrocyclone Geometry via Rapid Optimization Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics

Abstract Hydrocyclones exploit density gradients for the centrifugal separation of dispersions in a continuous liquid. Selection of the geometrics for optimal separation is case specific, like the media characteristics. The existing optimization method based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) provides a powerful analytical tool but requires long computational times. The most common praxis for CFD optimization is via the single‐factor optimization method (SFOM). In this study, a novel approach is presented as an improved rapid optimization method that implements a dynamic‐mesh and user‐defined function optimization method (DUOM). The DUOM adapts the dynamic‐mesh approach from other applications to the optimization analysis of hydrocyclones. The DUOM reduced the computational time by 31.1 %, compared to the SFOM.

Multi-Robot Teleoperation Based on Distributed Virtual Environment

This paper studies virtual-guide (VG) models for Internet-based multi-robot teleoperation on the platform of distributed virtual environments. The proposed VG models attempt to improve operational precision and help an operator to predicate actions of other operators locating in different places. The concept of VGs is introduced by analyzing its basic principle. Two experiments are given to verify the reasonability and feasibility of the proposed method.
