RQD és C tényezők összehasonlítása az Üveghutai fúrások alapján

A kőzettestből magfurassal kapott furomagok darabhosszai kulonboző nagysaguak. Tomott, nem repedezett kőzetek furomagjai altalaban hosszabb darabokbol allnak, szemben a repedezettebb kőzetekkel, amelyekből nem ritkan ep furomagok szinte ki sem nyerhetők. A tagoltsagokkal atjart kőzetmasszivumba melyitett furolyukak egyes szakaszai harom csoportra oszthatok: a) ep magok szakasza; b) tort magok szakasza; c) maghiany szakasza. A furomagok elemzesere, kiertekelesere a nemzetkozi gyakorlatban az un. RQD tenyezőt hasznaljak. Magyarorszagon ezen tenyező mellett a kőzetest toredezettseget Hansagi altal kifejlesztett C-modszerrel is merik. A cikk celja a ket tenyező alkalmazhatosaganak bemutatasa, kiemelve, hogy a C-tenyező segitsegevel joval jobban lehet a furomagot minősiteni. Jelen cikkben a Bataapatiban keszulő kis- es kozepes radioaktivitasu hulladektarolo kialakitasahoz keszitett furomagok statisztikai elemzese kerul bemutatasra.

REVIEW ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF FROZEN ROCKS

The freezing technique has been employed for a long time to strengthen the mechanical properties of intact rock and rock mass; however, it has not received as much attention as it deserves. This paper thoroughly reviews the effect of freezing on the essential mechanical properties, including uniaxial compressive strength, tensile strength, and Young’s modulus. The laboratory tests include the determination of density, ultrasound speed propagation, and strength parameters such as uniaxial compressive strength, tensile strength, and Young’s modulus. According to previously published results, the strength of different rocks such as marl, limestone, sandstone, tuff, granite, and marble increased significantly due to freezing when the samples were tested in frozen conditions. However, there is variation in strength increase based on rock type. It is outlined here that freezing increases rock strength by a factor of 4 in porous rock and by a factor of 1.8 in crystalline rock. Additionally, Young’s modulus increases with a decrease in temperature; however, a further decrease in temperature from -10 to -20 °C has no effect on Young’s modulus. Moreover, mathematical modelling for frozen rock has been reviewed comprehensively. It was found that porosity, the density of rock grains, density of water, residual unfrozen water content, minimum unfrozen water content at freezing point, material parameters, the initial temperature of rock, crystal size, orientation and alignment of minerals, and the loading rate are the most critical parameters that influence frozen rock strength.

Molecular epidemiology of Candida albicans infections revealed dominant genotypes in waterfowls diagnosed with esophageal mycosis

Fungal infections of animals could yield significant economic losses, especially in the poultry industry, due to their adverse effects on growth, feed intake, digestion, and reproduction. Previous investigations showed that Candida albicans plays the main etiological role in the esophageal mycosis of birds. In this study, we used multilocus sequence typing (MLST) to determine the population structure and molecular epidemiology of C. albicans isolated from geese and ducks in Hungary. Interestingly, only three known genotypes were identified among investigated flocks, namely, diploid sequence type (DST) 840, DST 656, and DST 605, suggesting the intra-species transmission of these genotypes. Additionally, two novel allele combinations (new DSTs) were found that have not been previously submitted to the MLST database. Phylogenetic analysis of isolates revealed a close relationship between DST 656 and DST 605 as well as between the two newly identified genotypes (designated DST 3670 and DST 3671). Although isolates from birds belonged to minor clades in contrast with most human isolates, no species-specificity was observed. Poultry-derived isolates were group founders or closely related to group founders of clonal complexes, suggesting that C. albicans is exposed to lesser selective pressure in animal hosts. The increasing number of genetic information in the C. albicans MLST database could help to reveal the epidemiological characteristics and evolutionary pathways that are essential for disease prevention strategies.

Víztartalom hatása a kőzetek szilárdságára

Jol ismert teny, hogy a viztartalom jelentősen befolyasolja a kőzetek szilardsagat – ezert is kell azok minősitesenel a szilardsagi vizsgalatokat mind szaraz, mind vizzel telitett allapotban elvegezni. A meresek alapjan a kőzetek fizikai allandoi minden esetben csokkennek a vizzel valo telites hatasara – sok esetben akar 1 %-os viztartalom is jelentős csokkenest eredmenyezhet. Mind kőzetmechanikai, mind mernokgeologiai szempontbol fontos ezt a folyamatot jol ismerjuk, mivel a kőzet viztartalma hatasara bekovetkező szilardsagi valtozasokat, mivel sok esetben a talajviz ingadozasa miatt az allandoan valtozhat. Ilyen esetekkel kell szamolni pl. felhagyott banyaknal, vagy pinceknel, ahol a talajviz-emelkedes hatasara stabilitasi problemakkal kell sokszor szamolni.

Variation of Elastic Stiffness Parameters of Granitic Rock during Loading in Uniaxial Compressive Test

Any rock mechanics’ design inherently involves determining the deformation characteristics of the rock material. The purpose of this study is to offer equations for calculating the values of bulk modulus (K), elasticity modulus (E), and rigidity modulus (G) throughout the loading of the sample until failure. Also, the Poisson’s ratio, which is characterized from the stress–strain curve, has a significant effect on the rigidity and bulk moduli. The results of a uniaxial compressive (UCS) test on granitic rocks from the Morágy (Hungary) radioactive waste reservoir site were gathered and examined for this purpose. The fluctuation of E, G, and K has been the subject of new linear and nonlinear connections. The proposed equations are parabolic in all of the scenarios for the Young’s modulus and shear modulus, the study indicates. Furthermore, the suggested equations for the bulk modulus in the secant, average, and tangent instances are also nonlinear. Moreover, we achieved correlations with a high determination factor for E, G, and K in three different scenarios: secant, tangent, and average. It is particularly intriguing to observe that the elastic stiffness parameters exhibit strong correlation in the results.

Analyzing the fissuration of the boreholes and comparing the different methods

Fissuring of rocks is frequently of greater importance in practical rock engineering operations than the strength of the intact rock. In practice boreholes are usually analyzed by the RQD method. The limitation of this method has been discussed by several authors: for example, for RQD = 0 % [that is, where the joint intercept (distance between joints in the cores) is 10 cm or less], or RQD = 100%, the RQD provides no information on the core pieces themselves. It does not matter whether the discarded pieces are soil or fresh rock pieces up to 10 cm in length. In early 2003, more than 3,000 meter-long boreholes were analyzed in parallel with two different methods: traditional RQD, and Hansagi's C (or Kiruna) Method. According to the results, in the case of a very good or very poor core, the C method shows the jointing patterns better than the widely-used RQD method. The goal of this paper is to present the C method and its advandages/disadvandages. Linear regression was found for the values between 10% < RQD < 90%, but the C value is much more sensitive than the RQD. The classification of the boreholes according to C method is also presented.
