This paper presents the design, development and validation of vision based autonomous robotic system for military applications. Sum of Absolute Difference (SAD) algorithm is used for the implementation of the proposed image processing algorithm. It works on the principle of image subtraction. The developed algorithm is validated in real time by change-based moving object detection method. The novelty of this work is the application of the developed autonomous robot for the detection of mines in the war field. Developed algorithm is validated both in offline using MATLAB simulation and in real time by conducting an experiment. Once the confidence of using the algorithm is increased, developed algorithm is coded into the Microcontroller based hardware and is validated in real time. Real time experimental results match well with those of the offline simulation results. However, there is only a small mismatch in distance and accuracy of the target detection, which is due to the limitations of the hardware used for the implementation.
Abstract Prostate-specific antigen (PSA)-based prostate cancer screening is a preference-sensitive decision for which experts recommend a shared decision making (SDM) approach. This study aimed to examine PSA screening SDM in primary care. Methods included qualitative analysis of audio-recorded patient-provider interactions supplemented by quantitative description. Participants included 5 clinic providers and 13 patients who were: (1) 40–69 years old, (2) Black, (3) male, and (4) attending clinic for routine primary care. Main measures were SDM element themes and “observing patient involvement in decision making” (OPTION) scoring. Some discussions addressed advantages, disadvantages, and/or scientific uncertainty of screening, however, few patients received all SDM elements. Nearly all providers recommended screening, however, only 3 patients were directly asked about screening preferences. Few patients were asked about prostate cancer knowledge (2), urological symptoms (3), or family history (6). Most providers discussed disadvantages (80%) and advantages (80%) of PSA screening. Average OPTION score was 25/100 (range 0–67) per provider. Our study found limited SDM during PSA screening consultations. The counseling that did take place utilized components of SDM but inconsistently and incompletely. We must improve SDM for PSA screening for diverse patient populations to promote health equity. This study highlights the need to improve SDM for PSA screening.
Consideration of new aspects of vascular anatomy of the pancreaticoduodenal region is required for further improvement of surgical procedures. Awareness of variations in arteries supplying the duodenum and pancreas can help in minimizing the blood loss during surgery. We report the absence of inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery, which was compensated by a large dorsal pancreatic artery arising from proximal part of the splenic artery. This artery replaced inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery and formed a large loop of anastomosis with the gastroduodenal artery.

Load-modulated arrays (LMA) use a single central power amplifier (CPA) and tune (modulate) the antenna loads according to the information signal, eliminating the need for traditional RF chains (consisting of DACs, mixers, and filters) at the transmitter. We consider LMAs in multiuser communication on the downlink. A base station is equipped with an LMA to transmit data to multiple users. Toward designing a precoder for this system, the single CPA at the transmitter necessitates the consideration of an instantaneous sum power constraint on the transmitted signal. We propose a precoding scheme which addresses this constraint. The proposed scheme, based on block diagonalization, is such that all the precoded signal vectors lie on the surface of a multidimensional hypersphere. This scheme not only satisfies the power constraint, but also aids power-efficient operation of the CPA due to its constant envelope nature.
Presently a day's need of the robot is expanding as a result of robot's effectiveness at work. The independent robot meets expectations without human intervention. Zones like military, ATM stalls, and atomic reactors so on are utilizing robots. This paper presents a novel applications based on robot in the hotel as a waiter and in military as a baggage carrier. These robots use Infrared (IR) sensor for their pathway planning in the hotel to serve the food and also for soldiers to carry their baggage in a war field. These robots are utilizing Microcontroller based Embedded System to perform the task.
Abstract Abstract It is said that nearly 40% of the cost of a chemical process lies in separation processes. Consequently, development in separation technology has been almost parallel to the growth of the chemical industry. A separation process can be schematically represented as
