Objective To understand the operational conditions of large medical equipment, and to establish a practical and effective performance management system. Methods Cost-effective analysis and cost-volume-profit analysis were used to assess the operational conditions of large medical equipment. Results CT,MRI,and biochemical analyzer were running in good condition. The investment recovery period was 6,14,and 5 months, respectively. The volume of services for CT,MRI,biochemical analyzer, and color Doppler ultrasound was 6,16,4,37,14.5,and 1.27 times that of the volume of services for cost recovery,Large medical equipment and the relevant medical technicians were overloaded at work. Conclusions Medial equipment should be maintained in good condition.Assessment on medical equipment should base on total prime cost.Scientific system should be established for managing large medical equipment.
