Blind adaptive constrained moe receiver for uplink MC-CDMA systems with real signaling in multi-cell environments

A blind adaptive constrained minimum output energy (MOE) receiver has been proposed for the uplink multicarrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system in a multicell environment when some users, including the desired user, employ real-valued modulation such as binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) or amplitude-shift keying (ASK). Since the imaginary part of residual interference at the filter output does not affect the decision of the desired user's data in this case, the proposed receiver has been designed to perfectly eliminate the real part of residual in-cell interference using the information of the spreading sequence and to reduce the real part of residual intercell interference by minimizing the constrained output energy. Results of analysis and simulation show that the proposed blind adaptive algorithm converges faster and has a higher steadystate signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) than those of conventional schemes.

Dynamic Call Admission Control in WCDMA System with Traffic Asymmetry

The capacity of the cell varies with the load of the home and neighboring cells. But most call admission control (CAC) algorithms do not consider the cell loading. In this paper a dynamic call admission control is proposed in a WCDMA system with traffic asymmetry. The proposed algorithm changes the CAC thresholds of new call and handoff call based on channel condition. The blocking and dropping probabilities can be controlled by adjusting these thresholds. The proposed algorithm guarantees the Qos of call class and priority between new call and handoff call. In addition, it can minimize the grade of service (GOS) value with the system throughput maintained.

Human detection based on the condition number in the non-stationary clutter environment using UWB impulse radar

In this paper, we propose a human detection method in non-stationary clutter environment using ultrawideband (UWB) impulse radar. We treat the foliage swaying in the wind as the non-stationary clutter. It is observed that the signal from the human body is more correlated than the signal from the non-stationary clutter. The method based on the condition number of correlation matrix is used to distinguish the human from the non-stationary clutter. The experimental results show that the proposed method shows better detection probability than the conventional method.

An Efficient Power Allocaction Scheme to Maximize Network Lifetime in Wireless Relay Networks with Energy Contraint

In energy resource constrained networks, the network lifetime can be enhanced by optimally allocating energy resource among users based on the available channel state information and the residual energy information at each node. In this paper, we propose the relay selection scheme and power allocation scheme to maximize the network lifetime in wireless relay networks with capacity constraint. The computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme increase the network lifetime in comparison to the conventional schemes.

Optimal Power Allocation for Spatial Division Multiplexing Scheme at Relays in Multiuser Distributed Beamforming Networks

In this paper, a distributed beamforming problem is considered in an amplify-and-forward (AF) wireless relay network consist of multiple source-destination pairs and relaying nodes. To exploit degree of freedom of the number of beamformers, in the first step, we proposed that the sources transmit their signals through orthogonal channels. During the second step, the relays transmit their received signals multiplied by complex weights to amplify and compensate for phase changes introduced by the backward channels through one common channel. The optimal beamforming vectors are obtained through minimization of the total relay transmit power while the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratios (SINRs) at the destinations are above certain thresholds to meet a quality of services (QoSs) level. In the numerical example, it is shown that the proposed scheme needs less transmit power for moderate network data rates than other schemes, such as space division multiplexing or time-division multiplexing scheme.

An Efficient Resource Allocation for Multiuser MIMO-OFDM Systems with Zero-Forcing Beamformer

In this paper, a low complexity subcarrier allocation scheme is proposed for multiuser MIMO-multiuser OFDM systems with zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) to minimize the total transmit power satisfying given target data rates of users. The ZFBF for multiuser MIMO makes multiple spatial channels by removing multiuser interference and the subcarrier allocation can be performed over spatial and frequency domain. Since the optimal method has very high computational complexity, the semi-orthogonal user selection (SUS) is employed to reduce the computational complexity. In numerical results, we show that the total transmit power satisfying the data rates of users is linearly decreased with the number of transmit antennas.

An Adaptive Determination of Channel Information Feedback Period in OFDMA Systems

OFDMA is considered as a promising solution for improving the performance of interactive wireless broadcasting systems. This work focuses on packet scheduling techniques with an adaptive channel information feedback period in OFDMA systems. In scheduling, it is important to know channel information by a fast, accurate and efficient way to improve the system performance. In this paper, we propose a packet scheduling technique with different information feedback periods according to the users' mobility. We formulate an algorithm by which each user determines feedback period to maximize the uplink throughput satisfying the required BER.
