Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems account for about 40% of energy used in buildings in the United States in 2008. Analysis of the energy efficiency of HVAC systems requires building-related information, such as building design, HVAC configurations, indoor environment measurements and load requirements. However, since building projects involve multiple disciplines, the needed information is stored in heterogeneous sources, such as design drawings, equipment manuals and sensor networks. It is hence difficult for system operators to collect and integrate the information required for analyzing the performance of HVAC systems. This paper explores the approaches to overcome this challenge of integrating heterogeneous information sources to support the information required for analyzing the performance of HVAC systems. The discussions include a synthesis of the characteristics of integration approaches from various domains, and an analysis of the relationships between the characteristics and the information sources required for analyzing performance of HVAC systems.
Environmental problems, energy problems and so on are increasingly obvious, and green buildings are greatly promoted. This paper introduces the green building evaluation system at home and abroad. On the basis of discussing the feasibility analysis of BIM technology applied to the green building evaluation system under the whole life cycle, the information contained in the BIM model is matched with the green building evaluation system, and the framework model of combination of the two in the whole life cycle is constructed, and the way and process of green building evaluation based on BIM technology is presented.
TV has always played an important role in transmitting information. Three TV programs about home design were selected as case studies to discuss how TV producers attracted the audience to the same subject of TV programs. It is found that, during the process of TV program production, attracting an audience does not mean reducing the useful information in the program or changing the narrative style of the program. Through these three TV programs, it is concluded that the dramatic increase in the narrative means of TV programs has not attracted the audience very well. Today's audience prefers to produce well-equipped TV programs. And now the content of TV programs is more and more diversified, and the positioning of the audience is more and more accurate. This also proves that the role of TV programs is no longer just entertainment, but a kind of information dissemination and cultural output
