Study on TD-SCDMA Protocol in Non-cooperative Location Applications

Non-cooperative positioning requires no mobile operators to participate in the positioning process. Based on this kind of application, the TD-SCDMA protocol is analyzed in this paper. With a brief description of TD-SCDMA standard, including its air interface structure and physical channel structure, the random access process and the authentication process in non-cooperation location-based applications are analyzed. Finally, a comparison of TOA, AOA and TDOA under the TD-SCDMA standard is discussed, and then a TDOA positioning method under the TD-SCDMA standard is proposed.

The Impact of RTS Threshold on Capacity of IEEE 802.11 DCF

Based on delicate mathematical model, the average time in a successful and unsuccessful transmission is worked out. Then the relation between network saturation throughput and RTS threshold is found and expressed in a theoretical formula. Our analysis shows that there is an optimum RTS threshold that can maximize the network capacity. The numerical techniques to find out the optimum RTS threshold are also presented. All these analysis are well validated by computer simulation.

A Predictor Based on Parallel LSTM for Burst Network Traffic Flow

The network traffic prediction is a key step for service quality control in computer network. Aimed at the problem that the performance of the traditional prediction method significantly degrades for the burst short-term flow, this paper proposed a double LSTM architecture, one of which acts as the main flow predictor, another as the detector for the moment the burst flow starts. The two LSTM unit can exchange their internal state's information, and the predictor uses the detector's information to improve the accuracy of the prediction. To train the offline double LSTM architecture, a Depth-Backstep algorithm is put forward. To use the architecture to perform the online prediction, a pulse series is used as a simulant of the burst event. A simulation experiment is designed to test performance of the predictor. The results of the experiment show that the prediction accuracy of the double LSTM architecture is significantly improved, compared with the traditional single LSTM architecture.

An adaptive RTS threshold adjust algorithm based on minimum energy consumption in IEEE 802.11 DCF

The IEEE 802.11 media accesss control (MAC) protocol provides shared access to a wireless channel. Its primary MAC technique is called distributed coordination function (DCF) that includes two packet transmission schemes, namely, the basic access and the RTS/CTS access mechanisms. In a "hybrid" network combining the two schemes, packets longer than a given threshold (RTS threshold) are transmitted according to the RTS/CTS mechanism. The effect on average energy consumption per packet of RTS threshold is analyzed in the assumption of idea channel and network saturated condition. Further analysis shows there is an optimum RTS threshold that can get minimum average energy consumption in a given network. Based on these analyses, we proposed an adaptive RTS threshold adjust algorithms that is effective and easily employed, with which a station can adjust its RTS threshold to adapt for variant circumstances automatically.

A research on anti-jamming method based on compressive sensing for OFDM analogous system

The intentional or unintentional interferences often bring performance losses to the broadband communication systems such as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems. Traditional interference suppression methods based on compressed sensing usually firstly recover the jamming signal then remove it from the received signal, which employs the sparse features in jamming signal's frequency spectrum. However, those methods are ineffective to the impulsive interference. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme to directly recover the transmitted signal. Rather than using the spectrum sparseness of jamming signals, we exploit the sparseness existed in transmitted signal brought by the channel coding, and use the redundant dictionary to accomplish the sparse recovery process at the recevier. That makes our method uesful for pulse jamming or narrow band jamming signal. The simulation results shows the feasibility and universality of the proposed scheme.

A Fast Estimation of Multipath Delay Using Chirp Signal

To study the multipath channel, which contains additive colored noise, in the chirp spread spectrum system, an efficient and fast algorithm was proposed to estimate multipath delay. Firstly, the impulse compress property of the chirp signal is used to obtain a cursory estimation. Subsequently the fourth-order cumulant matrix is decomposed by MSWF to calculate the number of multipath. The final estimation of multipath delay was calculated by the decorrelation MUSIC algorithm. In the last sections, a simulation which uses the channel of IEEE 802.15.4a as a transmit environment is introduced to testify the feasibility of the new algorithm. The algorithm proposed in this paper has high precision and low computational complexity.

The algorithm of position related channel character extraction and match localization based on ray-tracing

In this paper, an algorithm of position related channel character extraction and match localization based on ray-tracing is presented. Firstly the radio propagation of beacons is simulated and the time series for location is produced by using ray-tracing, and then wavelet transform and singular value decomposition are used for getting the character of location from the time series and build the character-location database. The characters of targets are measured to match the characters which are from the character-location database. Simulation results show that the character of location get from the algorithm has high stabilization, and when there are only 5 beacons, 90% location error is within 2 meters. As the density of beacon increasing, the accuracy becomes much better.
