Constructing Stable Anion‐Tuned Electrode/Electrolyte Interphase on High‐Voltage Na₃V₂(PO₄)₂F₃ Cathode for Thermally‐Modulated Fast‐Charging Batteries

Constructing stable electrode/electrolyte interphase with fast interfacial kinetics is vital for fast-charging batteries. Herein, we investigate the interphase that forms between a high-voltage Na3 V2 (PO4 )2 F3 cathode and the electrolytes consisting of 3.0, 1.0, or 0.3 M NaClO4 in an organic carbonate solvent (47.5 : 47.5 : 5 mixture of EC: PC: FEC) during charging up to 4.5 V at 55 °C. It is found that a higher anion/solvent ratio in electrolyte solvation structure induces anion-dominated interphase containing more inorganic species and more anion derivatives (Cx ClOy ), which leads to a larger interfacial Na+ transport resistance and more unfavorable gas evolution. In comparison, a low anion/solvent ratio derives stable anion-tuned interphase that enables better interfacial kinetics and cycle ability. Importantly, the performance of a failed cathode is restored by triggering the decomposition of Cx ClOy species. This work elucidates the role of tuning interphase in fast-charging batteries.

Parameter Sensitivity Analysis of a Multi-Physics Coupling Aging Model of Lithium-Ion Batteries

A high-precision lithium-ion battery simulation model is the basis to ensure the reliability of battery management system (BMS), and obtaining the values of model parameters accurately and efficiently is the premise of its online application. In this work, the thermal and stress fields are coupled on the electrochemical model, and the various aging mechanisms under the influence of multi-physics coupling are considered. A multi-physics coupling aging model which can simulate the internal processes of battery is established. Based on up to 10500 simulation cases, the sensitivities to the simulation results of terminal voltage and battery temperature of 42 model parameters are analyzed, including parameters related to multi-physics field and battery aging mechanisms. The model parameters are divided into three sensitivity levels: high, medium and low. The innovative aspects of this work include the extensive number of parameters studied, the numerous simulation cases, research objects related to multi-physics coupling and battery aging, and the concurrent analysis of parameter sensitivity to both voltage and temperature simulation results. This work plays an important guiding role in the accurate and efficient identification of model parameters, and is of great significance for online state estimation and guiding battery design.
