A number of issues related to composite structure analysis of variants of insoles, commonly used for getting comfortable wearing or improvement of posture deficiencies are presented in this research paper. In the first part of a paper some variants of biomechanical system consisting of composite structures - namely foot and insoles variants undergo analysis are presented and analyzed. This study aims to determine how these insoles react to the effect of temperature and humidity parameters during different time period. In the second part of the paper the experimental system and how to choose the group of samples analyzed are presented. The results and conclusions obtained from this study and the establishing the structural changes, evidenced by microscopic analysis are analyzed in the final part of the paper.
The 11th International Conference on Information Science and Information Literacy – ICISIL 2021 – will take place in Brașov, Romania, on the 11th and 12th of March, 2021. The conference will be organized by Transilvania University of Brasov, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, with the support of The Public Library of Brașov County and MB Think Tank. ICISIL 2021 will focus on: The Role of Information in Services Provided to Innovative Users. ICISIL 2021 will bring together professionals, academic staff, including doctoral students, with a focus on Information Sciences, along with policy-makers and stakeholders. The conference fosters an inter-disciplinary exchange of knowledge. Sessions include contributed papers, keynote presentations and panel discussions. We support PhD students in the field through reduced registration fees. In addition, a PhD workshop will be held in the morning of 12 March 2021, as part of the ICISIL 2021 annual conference, at no extra cost for all registered students. Moreover, ICISIL 2021 will host a workshop on Innovative Technologies, focusing on 3D printing. Within a composite material the materials shaped as fibres will take the most part of the tensions acting upon the matrix, which obviously presents less stiffness than the fibres. In order to accomplish the assessment of the behaviour for a polymeric composite part we deal with a lot more complicated issues than for the assessment of a simple metal part subjected to the same loads. The idea is to accomplish the balance of the individual layer stresses with the applied traction forces and bending moments and study the laminate as a whole.
Biomechanical stability of the human body during a gait cycle is an important parameter of biomedical assessments in the rehabilitation / recovery of people who have suffered an injury or to improve athletic performance. During the recovery actions or increasing in performance activities, can result a number of audio-visual stimuli, which may change accordingly, positively or negatively, specific actions on dedicated procedures. The research presented in this paper aims at assessing the impact of a set of auditory stimuli with negative emotional components and positive respectively, the behavior of a sample of subjects during a gait cycle. The recordings are made with a foot scan system type "RSScan" which allows measurements of contact forces between the leg and the ground, on the entire plantar surface, measurements of the parameters during gait cycle and not least, comparative evaluation of forces, trajectories and speed changes of plantar surfaces between the left/right foot. During a gait cycle, the human subject is audio "stimulated", to track the effect of these stimulation on the biomechanical stability, on behavioral reaction of the entire human body, especially on the plantar surface which provide bipodal support. Results of this research are a starting point for specific analyzes in various biomedical or human performance situations.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a kind of neuropathy developed due to irritated tendons that may affect the passageway made of ligaments and bones, located at the wrist (base of palm). People affected by CTS develop symptoms such as pain in the carpal area, sometimes reflected along the entire arm, swelling, difficulties in finger motions, reduced range of motion due to pressure upon the median nerve. The present paper performs a case study upon a female subject affected by CTS. The subject is investigated and then guided to perform some exercises using the software attached to the used equipment (sensory gloves), over a controlled period of time with rehabilitation purposes.
Sustainable consumption refers to the choice, purchase, use, and disposal of goods so as to enable all people to meet their present and future objective needs. However, panic caused by the gradual onset of the pandemic had a considerable impact on the behavior of consumption and purchase of medication, and the question remains whether sustainable consumption still matters during a crisis or not. The present study aims to analyze whether the pandemic has influenced the behavior of medication use among residents of Brasov County amid panic caused by the virus and to determine the primary sources of information on methods of the prevention and treatment of health conditions. The study focusses on the differences between the two target groups, young people, and adults, considering three socio-demographic factors, such as age, gender, and background. The present research uses two methods of data collection: an interview with 5 doctors and a questionnaire with 543 respondents. This research draws attention to the fact that the behaviors of purchasing and consuming medication during the COVID-19 pandemic has changed due to the spreading of the new virus and the state of emergency, as well as with medication use becoming less sustainable. The results showed that adults were more engaged in the panic buying of medication compared to young people during the pandemic; however, in normal times, young people use more medication. Our study shows that females tend to consume more medicines than males. Moreover, they are more susceptible for seeking media guidance and following advice from the digital realm, because they avoid going to the doctor, especially during the COVID-19 period. Depending on the environment of residence, it was found that people in rural areas generally tend to consume more medication than those in urban areas. However, during the pandemic, the drug use of this category of population has decreased because they do not tend to self-medicate and avoid visiting the doctor because of the fear of becoming contaminated. The results of the research could help to establish measures in order to prevent the panic buying of self-medication and pharmaceuticals, both during pandemics and in normal times, because such behaviors can have negative effects on both health and the environment.
Introduction: Patient satisfaction represents an essential indicator of the quality of care in the medical recuperation sector. This study aimed to identify the degree of satisfaction in patients who benefit from medical recuperation services in one private clinic from Romania and the factors that played a part in this respect. Method: An online questionnaire was completed by 105 patients of a private clinic in the period immediately following the opening of the clinic after the quarantine period due to COVID-19. The following concepts were measured: general satisfaction with clinical recuperation services (SG), physician’s behavior (PB), the impact of interventions on the state of health (IHI), modern equipment (ME), and the intention to return to the clinic (IRC). Based on a linear regression model, the impact of PB, IHI, ME, and IRC variables on general satisfaction (SG) was established. Results: The study results confirm the data from studies carried out in different sociocultural contexts in ordinary time, where physician behavior is the most crucial factor in patients’ satisfaction. Therefore, we can say that the physiotherapist’s behavior has an essential role in determining the patients’ satisfaction both in ordinary time and in COVID-19 time. The data in this study reflect the fact that satisfaction with the services offered by a medical recuperation clinic is a predictor for using the services in the future. Still, our study reflects a moderate relationship in intensity.
Health promotion represents the mediation strategy between people and their environment (ecosystem) that synthesizes personal choice and the responsibility of the society towards health. The health education aims at developing abilities and attitudes which maintain the health status. Internet and other modern electronic and information technologies users are healthy or ill people, of different ages, sexes, professions, etc., who want to inform themselves on how to preserve and promote the individual, collective and community health, on how to recover and maintain a good quality of life, even in some chronicle crippling diseases. The medical practice and our study inclusive prove the imperative necessity of developing internet networks or other modern information technologies that could make available to the users and the Romanian medical scientific community information supports necessary for improving the health promotion, the health education practice, the prophylaxis, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, including a better coordination of the activity in the field of national and international public health assistance and an efficient management of the relation between medical units, local governmental units and central management units and the user of medical assistance services.
