The running equipment of industrial system may be affected by not only the conditions of the system but the operating state itself, so that the risk of equipment failure was considered as dynamics. During researching the possibility and severity of the failure risk, it is necessary to understand and investigate the dynamic characteristics of equipment failure in the system life cycle. In this article, equipment failure of dynamic risk factors were summed up as a function of failure rate, external load of equipment, and the system structure and system function effect to the severity of risk. A dynamic risk model is put forward. The model was used for cavity-made water system of Jintan underground gas storage, the map of pump dynamic failure risk was drawn out, the situation and reasons of the risk in three typical stages of early, middle, late of making storage and injection gas was recognized. Empirical studies show that the model may be inferred the status and trends of equipment failure risk in the system running cycle, so that the risk may be controled effectively and timely.
Based on the reliability theory,the fault modes of self-contained safety system and redundant safety system are analyzed;the quantitative calculation models for the explicit failure rate,implicit failure rate and availability of those systems are given.Comparison and analysis is made on the safety system comprising ESD(Emergency Shutdown System)and DCS(Distributed Control System)by using those models.It is considered that when the ESD is used independently,attention should be paid to reducing implicit failure rate and improving its repairing rate,and that when ESD and DCS are equipped redundantly-no matter they are installed in parallel or series,the safety protection function of the system increases,but the explicit failure rate increases and the implicit failure rate reduces.Therefore,using ESD to supplement DCS is not simple function repetition;it will be of great importance in raising the whole safety level.
