Dreaming depiction enjoys a long history in the traditional ancient Chinese literature. However, due to the fact that most dream-depictions deviated from reality and were full of superstitious beliefs, dream-depiction failed to get high comments. There are more than sixty stories depicting dreams in San Ya and Liang Pai which accounted for one third of all the stories. However, few people had made researches of the dream-depiction in them. Though most of the dream-depiction are scattered among the stories and only few of the stories totally depict dreams, it is still worthwhile to study their cultural values and their narrative functions.

The first Chinese novel diary-style , Xuelian's Diary , by Li Hanqiu , realy narrated Manzu's girl , Xuelians' misfortune and sisters' experience of refugee after “Wuchang Uprising” . It has given expression to Xinhai Revolution from another side . It should be a novel of “society”. Xuelian's Diary had the originality in the light of novel's level at that time , in its ideological content and artistry .
The culture of folk custom was widely described in LI Han-qiu's social novels in the early years of the Republic of China.Its importance is discovered through studying LI's novels.LI's novels revealed the phenomenon of folk custom to lay stress on the significance of society and life of common faith by exposing the Absurdity of blind faith.LI's novels demonstrated some new trends of describing the culture of folk custom with the progressive thoughts of the times.LI's novels have influenced some novelists later in a certain sense.

A Study about Li Hanqiu′s Classical Chinese Novels by Dr.Zhang Zhenguo had been published in Journal of Huaiyin Teachers College Social Science Vol 324,2010.It had a certain sense of filler to study The Notes of Hanqiu,but the other content easily evoked the readers′ misunderstandings due to the obscure annotations in the paper.Hu Die Xiang Si Ji was not one of Li Hanqiu's works.Qi Tong An was a translated short story.Zi Mei Hua Gu and Shuang Juan Xue were two created novels.The narrative style was different from the classical novels.
