Development of a pneumatic drum-type seeding apparatus for two-row seeding soybean and mung bean

Abstract Developed pneumatic sowing device of drum type for two-line sowing of soybean and mung bean seeds and study its technological process of work sowing bean seeds. When developing the design of a pneumatic drum-type sowing device for two-line sowing of seeds, methods were used for designing seeders and their working bodies, methods for calculating sowing devices and pneumatic systems. The experiments were carried out in accordance with State Standards 31345-2007 and State Standards 20915-2011. In the course of research, it was determined that taking into account the size of soybean seeds and their seeding rates, the diameter of the suction holes of the seeding drum can be taken dt = 4.5 mm, the diameter of the seeding drum D = 230 mm, the pitch between the suction holes of the drum should be t ≥ 11.21 mm, and holes in the seeding drum number z ≤ 55 pieces. At a seeder speed V c = 2.1 m/s, a drum diameter with suction holes D = 0.230 m, a hole pitch t = 0.011 m, the drum speed is n = 0.377 s −1 or n = 22.6 rpm. With these parameters, on the developed pneumatic sowing device, the distance between the seeds was 119.0 mm, and between the rows 207.8 mm at their specified values, respectively, 120 mm and 200 mm. The developed sowing device, on the basis of theoretical and experimental studies, ensures sowing of soybean seeds with a deviation from the specified distances between seeds ± 6.8 mm and between rows ± 4.5 mm and meets the requirements.

Adaptive Computing Technologies for Diagnostics and Control of UAVs With Fault-Tolerant On-Board Software

The article deals with the issue of studying the principles and developing approaches to improving the fault tolerance of UAVs onboard software. The questions of analysis and study of the resource intensity of control and diagnostic algorithms, and the technology of balancing computational tasks using the methodology of distributed computing are formed. The use of hybrid modeling methods is appropriate in solving the problem, since in the work under the control of the UAV we will understand the purposeful impact on the functional processes that describe the implementation of the flight plan, route, selection and the mission as a whole. In this case, the established resource and time constraints must be taken into account. The scientific problem that the project is intended to solve is the creation of new adaptive distributed technologies for diagnosing and managing fault-tolerant on-board software for UAVs based on hybrid modeling methods. In the article, a methodology for modifying the algorithms for monitoring and diagnosing on-board software is formed, which is consistent with the multi-criteria characteristic of possible typical scenarios of UAV behavior.

Performance analysis of UAV sprayer application in precision agriculture

Abstract The effectiveness of the use of spray UAVs in precision agriculture largely depends both on the UAVs chosen for this purpose and their characteristics, and on the organization of the control of the UAV swarm, which requires an analysis of the UAV microprocessor performance in various modes of their use. It is possible to organize a general control of a swarm of UAVs, as well as individual control in offline mode. The article presents a methodology for analyzing the performance of spray UAVs in precision agriculture. A model example of the analysis of the microprocessor performance of a UAV swarm based on the specified system parameters is given. It is shown that the use of models of microprocessor performance of a swarm of UAVs in precision farming makes it possible to obtain the information necessary to make a decision on the development or purchase of UAVs of one type or another, the choice of fertilizer and pesticide spraying systems, the scaling and redundancy of UAVs and elements of the spraying system.

Monitoring of the Combine with Smart Devices in Soybean Harvesting

GIS technology based on real-time smart devices, including GPS devices and sensors will be widely used in agricultural technology. Therefore, this technology is being expected in crop harvesting process. One of the most important processes in soybean cultivation is the efficient use of combines and harvesting without loss of harvest. The grain harvester combine Dominator-130 equipped with GPS receiver and grain level sensor was researched in harvesting the soybean. According to results of experiments, during the harvesting of soybean the grain cleanness in a tank of the combine harvester Dominator-130 made up 95.9 per cent, grain loss in a thresher of combine made up 0.7 per cent, these indexes answer to the demands, however in a reaper of combine harvester the grain loss and damaging of grain were higher than demand. Therefore, it is important to define the optimal technological parameters and working regimes that give opportunity to decrease the loss of grain in the reaper of combine and damaging of grain in the thresher of combine for harvesting the soybean.

Determination of working indicators of New Holland TS-5060 combine for soy bean harvesting

Abstract The results of experimental researches to determine the working indicators of the New Holland TS-5060 combine for soybean crop harvesting are given. According to the results of performed experiments to determine the working indicators of the New Holland TS-5060 grain harvester in soy bean harvesting process, the main time yield of the harvester combine was determined at 1.4 hectare/hour, the grain yield was defined at 96.5 per cent, and the loss in the combine thresher unit was at 0.6 per cent, it was found to be at the level of demand, however the grain loss and grain damage on the combine harvester were slightly higher than the specified requirements. That is why, it is recommended to use the number of revolutions of the combine pick-up reel in the range of 25-30 rpm, the number of revolutions of the threshing drum in the range of 750-800 rpm. Average square deviation and variation coefficient of these indicators are shown in following tables.

Environmental safety problems of swarm use of UAVs in precision agriculture

Digital technologies are an integral part of the functioning of many sectors of the state, which applies, in particular, to the agricultural sector, which plays a significant role in shaping the state’s economy, ensuring food independence and export potential. One of the promising areas of digital transformation is the swarm use of unmanned aerial vehicles in precision agriculture, the use of which significantly increases productivity while reducing production costs. Analysis of the transport and technological cycles of UAVs allows us to identify a number of existing problems in the swarm use of UAVs that are associated with anthropogenic impact. The article examines the potential impact of unmanned aerial vehicles on the environment, analyzing such aspects as noise and vibration emissions, air and soil pollution, electromagnetic radiation, and the impact on biodiversity and ecosystems in general. The study is aimed at identifying key environmental problems, identifying ways to minimize and solve them. The authors offer recommendations for ensuring environmental safety and sustainable development of precision agriculture with the swarm use of unmanned systems.

Conceptual basis for digitalization of specifications of transport and technological cycles of agricultural UAVs

The conceptual basis for digitalization of the specifications of transport and technological cycles of agricultural UAVs used in performing agrotechnical operations in smart agriculture is presented in the article. The basic properties of specifications have been studied. Methods for analyzing the main properties of specifications are considered and the relationship between specifications and the main stages of the life cycle of transport and technological cycles of UAVs is established. Based on GERT-oriented conceptual specification tools, a method for organizing conceptual specification tools based on GERT-like nodal logic is proposed in the article. Formalization of the GERT-network specification of transport and technological cycles of agricultural UAVs has been completed. The proposed approach to creating specifications for transport and technological cycles of UAVs in smart agriculture makes it possible to ensure full compliance of the specifications with the basic requirements for accuracy, clarity and completeness of description.

Productivity analysis of agricultural UAVs by field crop spraying

Abstract The article presents an analysis of the performance of agricultural UAVs when spraying field crops. Based on an analysis of the current state of technology for using UAVs in precision agriculture, a model for calculating UAV performance has been developed, based on the time structure of the crop spraying process, including the time of spraying, replenishment of mineral fertilizers or pesticides, and UAV flight. It is noted that for an agricultural UAV, when used in a precision farming system, the equation of existence must relate the take-off mass, the functional components of the take-off mass and the parameters of the sprayer, ensuring differentiated application of pesticides and fertilizers. Based on the proposed performance model of agricultural UAVs, recommendations are given for choosing the type of UAV for spraying crops. This model allows us to generalize methods for testing the production performance of agricultural UAVs, build models of production efficiency and provide proposals for technological solutions to improve these performance characteristics.
