Numerical Sloshing Analysis of FLNG and LNGC Considering Two-Body Motion Effect

Side by Side arrangement is considered for the LNG-FPSO offloading operations. In that case, two-body coupled effects are important for LNG-FPSO and LNGC motion and sloshing analysis. The present study is concerned with a ship motion and sloshing analysis considering two-body motion and sloshing-motion coupled effects. The methodology is based on three-dimensional potential theory on a coupled model of LNG-FPSO and LNGC in the frequency domain. To calculation sloshing impact pressures, the violent liquid motion inside tank is treated with three-dimensional numerical model adopting SOLA-VOF scheme.

TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTICS OF VIBRATION ENERGY OF LARGE PANELS OF A PASSENGER SHIP

A passenger ship has long spanned deck panels with thin plate and small stiffness compared with a general merchant ship from the viewpoint of the structural arrangement. It is difficult to reinforce and improve wide panels and local structures of a passenger ship because of its interior design when they have vibration problems. Moreover, the allowable vibratory limit for a passenger ship is much lower than that of a commercial ship. In this paper, the paths and magnitude of vibration energy for the long spanned large panel induced by major excitation sources of a passenger ship and the characteristics are introduced. Also, in order to minimize energy transmission to a large panel of the ship, case studies of vibration intensity analysis for the several modification methods of a large panel are described.
