Transient luminescent dynamics in low doped porphyrin side-chain polymer film, poly(porphyrin acrylate-styrene) (P[(por)A-S]), were measured by using time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopic technology. At relative higher intrachain porphyrin comonomer concentration (0.27%), the transient luminescence relaxation becomes more rapid with the increase in the interchain polymer concentration, resulting in low luminescence efficiency. The origin has been analyzed according to the Förster-type bimolecular annihilation theory. However, at the porphyrin comonomer concentration (0.1%), the luminescence relaxation of the P[(por)A-S] film becomes faster with the decrease in the interchain polymer concentration, inducing lower luminescence efficiency. The luminescence quenching has been analyzed according to the theory of MM+ force field and exciton rotational diffusion. The theoretical analyses are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Abstract A novel palladium(0)‐catalyzed dearomative cyclization reaction of bromophenols with (1, n )‐diynes has been developed for building two new types of tricyclic architectures containing a quaternary carbon center. This method employs inexpensive bromophenols, and easily accessible tethered diynes. It exhibits a broad substrate scope and tolerates various functional groups. Preliminary results with commercially available chiral ligands indicate that enantioselective variants are feasible for both cyclization processes.

Application of Artificial Neural Networks Coupled with an Orthogonal Design to Simulation for Powder Mixed EDM

Electric discharge machining (EDM) is one of the most accurate manufacturing processes available, and it is quite indispensable to aerospace industries. Powder mixed EDM (PMEDM) is a new process through which a better surface can be reached, nevertheless, PMEDM is a complicated and random process influenced by many parameters, and the intricacies of mechanism hinders its application. This paper presents a method that can be used to forecast the surface roughness in the PMEDM process with the application of artificial neural networks (ANNs). ANNs with back propagation (BP) algorithm coupled with an orthogonal design was applied to the modeling of the PMEDM system and simulation of experimental conditions. An orthogonal design was utilized to design the experimental protocol, in which peak current, pulse-on time, discharging area, servo voltage and no-load voltage were varied simultaneously. The results showed that the ANNs model reflected the complex relationship of PMEDM and had high predicting accuracy.
