Effect of Prestressed Anchor Pile on Controlling Landslide under Periodic Water Level Fluctuations by FEM

After the Three Gorges Dam is built, the reservoir will be impounded gradually untill the level rises to 100 m. As the need of flood prevention, the reservoir's water level will fluctuate between 145m and 175m. The intrinsic water-rock interaction circumstance and condition will be changed by the periodical rise and drawdown of water level, which may result in the instability of reservoir banks and slopes. The Baisuigou landslide is the secondary landslide of the Tanjiaping landslide, which is located at the new immigrant county of Badong County in Three Gorge region. It is important to ensure Baisuigou landslide. Based on a number of experimental studies and monitoring data, a 2D FEM model was developed. Under the fluctuation of different water levels, the deformation trends, the failure process of the Baisuigou landslide, and effect of prestressed anchor piles on controlling landslide are simulated by ANASYS. The research results show that due to the periodic water level fluctuations, the landslide stability will decrease and the landslide will happen at last. However, the landslide stability can be increased by the prestressed anchor piles. This research will be useful for predicting the stability of Baisuigou landslide in long periodic water-level fluctuation.

A Strategy of Dynamic Replica Creation in Cloud Storage

With the popularity of cloud storage, its reliability and access latency have become increasingly prominent.To solve this problem, a novel strategy of dynamic replica creation based on acceleration is presented for cloud storage by drawing lessons from the concept of acceleration.For reducing access latency, the strategy predicts the hot files in the way of acceleration based on accessing locality principle.Finally, the performances of the strategy of acceleration replicas creation and the strategy of best client replicas creation are simulated and analyzed.The simulation results show that the strategy of acceleration replicas creation predicted hot files in the next period of time more accurately than the strategy of best client replicas creation, reduced network latency more than the strategy of best clients and the effect was being more pronounced with accessing trends rising.The strategy of acceleration replicas creation is suitable for cloud storage which is for handling massive files.By this strategy, not only the reliability of cloud storage data is improved, but also access latency is reduced.

Synchronization Instability Mechanism and Damping Enhancement Control for DFIG-Based Wind Turbine During Grid Faults

Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind turbines (WTs) are prone to lose synchronization with the power grid during weak grid faults, and the grid synchronization instability phenomenon features the frequency oscillations or divergence of phase-locked loop (PLL). However, the instability mechanism of PLL caused by other parts dynamics of DFIG-based WTs remains unclear. Thus, this article investigates how the PLL dynamics are affected by the current control loops of the grid-side converter (GSC) and rotor-side converter (RSC) in terms of grid synchronization. Firstly, a small-signal model is developed, where the transfer function of PLL is cascaded with another transfer function that represents the dynamics of other control loops in the open-loop transfer function of this model. Then, the instability mechanism is elaborated by analogy with the Heffron–Phillips model of synchronous generator, which indicates that the current control loops of GSC and RSC deteriorate the synchronization stability by providing negative damping. Based on it, the GSC-based stabilizer for damping enhancement is proposed for DFIG-based WT to improve synchronization stability, which takes full advantages of the GSC capacity potential. Finally, the theoretical analysis and proposed method are validated by experiments.

A Novel Blocks Placement Strategy for Hadoop

A novel blocks placement strategy is developed for solving some shortages in recent Hadoop. With the Strategy, the optimal Data nodes, according to the real-time situation of Data nodes, are chosen dynamically to achieve load balancing. Finally, the simulation experiments indicate that our strategy behaves much better than the HDFS blocks placement when the situation is coherent to time.

Feedforward Current References Control for DFIG-Based Wind Turbine to Improve Transient Control Performance During Grid Faults

For doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbines, when severe grid faults occur, it is necessary to inject transient and negative-sequence components into the rotor current reference to achieve controllable low-voltage ride through (LVRT) capability. However, the classical proportional-integral (PI) controller cannot provide precise control of the transient and negative-sequence rotor current, because such current references in synchronous reference frame (SRF) are ac components at grid frequency and double grid frequency, respectively. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a feedforward current references control (FCRC) method for rotor-side converter to improve the system transient control performance. Under the proposed method, the additional feedforward of rotor current references is introduced into the current loop to improve its tracking capability of the aforementioned ac current references, thereby achieving the transient control targets precisely. Moreover, the proposed method will not affect the stability of the original current loop. Furthermore, the method has strong robustness against DFIG parameters deviation and grid frequency variations. In addition, the method is highly simple to implement. Finally, the validity of the proposed FCRC method is demonstrated by simulation and experiment.

Improved Design of PLL Controller for LCL-Type Grid-Connected Converter in Weak Grid

When LCL-type converter is attached to weak grid, its current control and phase-locked loop (PLL) will interact with each other, via the point of common coupling voltage. Unfortunately, the conventional PLL controller design methods are mainly for PLL independent systems, regardless of the aforesaid interaction. As a consequence, PLL dynamic might deteriorate the grid current control and even leads to instability problem. For this issue, this article proposes an improved design of PLL controller parameters to mitigate the negative effect of PLL on the current control. First, the small-signal model of the current control system considering PLL effect is established, and the system stability with the conventional PLL controller design method is analyzed. Then, an improved design of PLL controller parameters is proposed, and the design guideline is given in detail. With the method, not only the dynamic and static response performance of PLL independent system can be maintained, but also the negative influence of PLL dynamic on the current control can be effectively reduced in weak grid. Moreover, the grid current control has a strong robustness to the grid impedance variation. Finally, the proposed method is validated by the simulation and experiment.
